First and foremost - You may only enter your own photography, though that rule *almost* goes without saying. One entry per day, per person. If you are unable to upload every day, we understand that this is not reality and real life comes first, but please have your photos uploaded by the specified time after each round. Usually two days are given after the ten days so those that need to catch up may before judging commences. New rounds either begin after winners are announced or when there are a sufficient number of participants to compete. (This number left up to the host per circumstances that appeal to each round.) No manipulation At this point in time, I am also excluding you from putting borders around your images >_< *Nazi pixie* Simply because sometimes putting a border on a picture can really add something, and not all entrants will do that. NOTE: Black & White photos are now allowed, however no other photo manipulations are allowed. A new rule! Be sure to notice that from now on every contestant should add the date the photo has been taken in their own photowiki. That rule is to encourage to take the photo after the theme is posted instead of posting an old photo. In general we only allow new pictures, but if you have no ideas or time for taking the new photo and you have a perfect old one for the theme, you can have one or two old photos out of ten. If you add an old photo, you should post the real date, and we will allow it, but we will consider the date when voting for the winners. There is now no size limit...Just please keep them at a reasonable size for viewing >_< (One of the judges was grumbling about not being able to appreciate the pictures in their full size xD) The theme *must* be followed, but you may allow yourself to be as creative and as sneaky with that as you like :D For example: The theme might be 'orange'. You could take photos of something orange, or an orange...but not a duck sitting on the water! :D Unless it was an orange duck... It was such a huge job for me to do everyone's separate wikis the first time - so, can you put your pictures into your personal '10 Days' wiki (when it is made) when you change your photos over please ^_^ Yes, you are allowed to participate multiple times ;p 2007-01-10 [Jitter]: Hmm I want to but I don't think I'll manage. Unfortunately, I only now noticed that [BinaryPhoenix], who is the ultimate winner of this round, apparently participated in the previous round (number 6) as well. According to the rules, this shouldn't happen. This was my mistake as much as [BinaryPhoenix]'s, but I would ask you as participants to keep with this rule more carefully in the future as well.

2007-04-05 [MisLuck]: And one thing also; I am a huge fan of Black and White photographing; but I do it on film. Digital BW pictures are flat and dull, is it allowed to put Black and white picture up if it is token as such? (If I have time to develope and scan it on the same day :D You know it's film 'cause it shows bad looking film edges from the scanning)

[MisLuck], erm, I don't know about that. This was [pixish]'s vision, so I should ask her, but I have a feeling the answer might well still be 'no'.
2007-04-05 [MisLuck]: I understand where she is going with the rule, but it still feels quite odd that you can't put up original pictures. It puts a lot of borders to creaticity in a way. But it's not a problem, I can do colour pictures, it's just odd.
2007-04-05 [Linderel]: Well, try thinking it like this: How well can you work within those borders, how well can you compensate for being limited by these regulations? I understand how it might seem odd, but this contest is about plain photography where everyone stands on the same starting line and where no one has the advantage of manipulation or b&w or anything else, really. It all comes down to how well you portray the theme with no tricks employed.
Eh, I may be going off on a tangent here, I'm not Pixaysh so I can't know for sure what she was thinking, but I like it either way. :3
2007-04-05 [MisLuck]: Well, you can scan them when the border is... well I have a picture of scanned picture on my house, the borders are not clean, or then you can photoshoot it toward bright light when it is clearly seen that it is a film. But in the end, with coloured pictures also, we can never know who has used photoshop and who hasn't. Camera's give out different looking pictures and the light influences to the outcome also, so they might look very different. These are matter of trust. I think everyone will enjoy more if one takes plain photographs and people like it. It shows you can photoshoot, not that you can use one program. But we can't be sure.
2007-04-05 [Linderel]: Yes, it is a matter of trust... But I'm not changing the rules either way, since they're not my rules to change. We'll just keep going with plain coloured photographs and hope everyone remembers to be honest. :P

This is a bit more principle question here as I have my hands full of work and to do BW film, develope it and scan would be half of a workday and my little 24 hours hardly is enough now...

2007-05-23 [shotokan_gal]: Assuming each day lasts 24 hours, I'd guess that day 1 only ends (for the purposes of the contest) at 8pm ET-time tommorow. It works out as being spread over two days for some of us, but that can't be helped with timezones. [Linderel] can clarify though hopefully.
2007-05-23 [Lothuriel]: I was going by the way things were the first time I participated. I used traditional 35mm film that took at least two days to develop. There was no problem for the first round....so I don't know.

I just love the diversity of the human minds :)
2007-05-24 [MisLuck]: How can i upload a bigger image? I set the longer side to be 1000px (with screen resolution), but as I uploaded to my page it got smaller and I don't like that so small size. I can't find the page where was guided how to upload a zip file or so to your wikipage, help please?
2007-05-24 [Linderel]: You have priv 99, so you don't need to use the 'upload a folder of images' thingy. On the bottom of every wiki page you should see an upload form. You can upload it to the entry page or your own personal submission page, or to a separate upload page of your own.

2007-08-21 [Elmiira]: Well, there's always been a few of those who don't submit any photos at all in the comptetition, having forgotten or otherwise.. So I would decide a date, then send a message to all those 8 on the list and tell when the competition will start, and then just start it.. If all these eight would really be in this thing, it would be the same as any other round :)

I'm a good bit behind everyone in time difference so I'll have to figure out what time will be best to start it, but how about we start it this weekend so I have a few days to make sure I know what I am doing and notify those signed up to make sure they know when it's starting?
