Turan turned in time to see Talos approaching "Can i help you?" he asked warily, wondering how he managed to get in without being alerted.

Nadya looked up, and over at the person Turan was speaking to, holding on to Abarhi more.

"So this is where you've remained after all....my my and here i thought you'd be far removed on some remote and exotic place deep in the jungles" Talos' voice was dissmissive.

Turans eyes widened slightly "Who are you?" his voice barely hid the tension.

Abarhi looked confused.

Nadya looked at Turan confused, and then over at the mysterious man. "Please... who are you?"

Talos looked dissarmingly at Nadya "No one of consequence" he turned to Turan "How is it that you don't remember me?" his voice sounded wounded "You who taught me so much and yet you do not remember? Something has changed then, or are you not Turan Ecthelion?"

Turan gave a start, few if any to his recolection knew his full name "If i had known you then like so much else the memory is lost to me....all i can remember is awakening a few hundred years ago amidst the remains of a charnal pit of despair and destruction....so i apologize if i do not remember you nor the friendship that we apparently have. In answer to your question though, yes my name is Turan Ecthelion, i am the last of my line"

Nadya looked down and away from Talos. She just leaned her head against Abarhi's chest.

Talos nodded "Then you have changed indeed old friend....you are far older than a few hundred years....my father knew you, he sent me to kill you all those years ago and yet it was you who made me see how flawed he was..." he sighed "Well, i don't know who made you like this, i would certainly have them pay in blood for it....i came here to extend a formal invitation to you for the Luminescent council....before it was reformed you where a well known and respected member"

Turan looked baffled and confused....the first real emotions he had openely displayed in time imemorial "Very well then, i would like to know more about my past life if you remember much....and yes i will attend"

Abarhi grew even more confused at the look on his old friends face.

Nadya looked confused as well. "The Luminescent Council?"

Talos nodded "I'll tell you more about it when the time draws nearer"

Turan inclined his head "Very well"

Nadya just looked between them even more confused. "I...I'm going to go....and... I'm getting tired...." she said softly with a yawn. Nadya kissed Abarhi on the cheek. "Do you want to come with me? Or would you like to stay here?"

Abarhi smiled softly "you needed to ask? I think i'll join you..." he cast one last inquisitive look at Turan.

Turan turned to Talos "I suppose then as old friends i should feel at ease around you, and i sincerely apologize but i have forgotten so much.....but where are my manners. What is your name?"

Talos smiled "Talos" he said simply.

Nadya smiled softly back at Abarhi. "Never hurts...." she said softly, and then took his hand to head to one of the bedrooms.

Turan whached them go before turning back to Talos "Well then old friend...your name does sound familiar now....how about something to pass the time with?"

Talos smiled "Ladies first" flames appeared in his hands

Turan arced lightning off of his finger tips, sending it in a stream like fashion towards Talos.

He smiled "Disperse" he said softly. The elemental energy crashed in front of him as if held in check by some arcane shield before evaporating.

Turan raised an eyebrow "So....one of those are you?"

Nadya headed into one of the room, and smiled softly up at Abarhi. "It's been a long day....and then that strange man coming...."

Abarhi sighed "Yes, but Turan seems to vaguely know him so for the moment that is enough for me to trust him" he felt the ground shake slightly "And since he didn't warn me before that happened i would assume that yes it is quite alright"

Nadya nodded. "I'm just surious about the council thing...." she said, and then shrugged. "Just another secret I guess...." She laughed lightly. "Sorry... my father would check things from me.... and I was always curious..... but I understand that Turan doesn't remember...so...."

He shook his head, clearly as baffled as she was "If i knew then i would tell you...no matter, i'll pick his brain about it latter...though i get the sense of things that even he doesn't remember" he smiled "Nothing wrong with being curious, sometimes it's a good thing"

Nadya continued to smile gently. "Meow..." she playfully said, seeming to paw the air with her hand. "I understand...."

He kissed her softly "It's interesting actually, trying to read him....especially when he talks about the past as if he doesn't know it...i mean it's like there are memories there but there is such a thick haze surrounding it...and it's not a natual haze either...every time i try to get through i'm left feeling sick and my connection severed almost immiediatly"

"You've tried to go into his mind?" she asked curiously.

"I can read it, but delving into someone's past is a very personal affair, i tried once. I intruded upon what wasn't mine to intrude...such and intimate thing is reserved for someone other than myself....and it could be that there never will be one for him but if that's the case than his secrets aren't meant to be discovered"

"That's.... so sad...." Nadya whispered, looking down.

He looked at her questioningly "Perhaps to someone like you, i don't find it sad i simply know it is not my place to unearth such things. For one i am not capable of, because whatever power caused him to lose his memories can only be broken should Turan open his heart up and learn to trust someone on a far deeper level than friendship" he laughed softly "There is far more to being an elf than meets the eye my love..." he looked out to the see "Especially if an Elf choses to fall in love with a mortal"

"And if I were mortal....? What of you.....?"

He smiled softly, though a brief look of sadness crossed his eyes "When a pure blood Elf falls in love with someone who is mortal it is a very rare yet very special thing for those who understand it. If they should decide to, and there have yet to be any instances where it is not the case....then the Elf can choose to make his or her beloved immortal" he paused "But to do this is to potentially die, and thus it only ever happens when the love is true. There is a process that supposedly simply happens, in which the Elf should they survive bond with their lovers soul and in so doing some how make them immortal as well....it is a very powerful thing"

"Oh...." she said softly. "I wonder what would happen from us being together....I know I'm immortal.... in all of my years... I haven't heard anything of a true vampire being with anyone other than another vampire whether natural or made....." Nadya looked up at Abarhi. "But I am so happy to be with you....no matter what happens....."

Abarhi smiled, feeling the ground shake again from another impact as a result of whatever Turan and Talos where up to "Don't worry about it Nadya" he said softly.

Nadya jumps at him, hugging on to him. "Oh Abarhi...you are so wonderful...."

He wrapped his arms around her, giving her a gentle squeeze "Because i tell you not to worry? Hmmm, i try to be" the smile was evident in his voice.

"You are just over all wonderful to me...everything you have done for me....starting back at the ball up until now...." she said smiling up at him.

"Well...you deserve it" he said simply

Nadya kissed him gently. "Let's rest...build up our strength...."

He nodded "From what i've heard so far from Turan...we will need it"

Nadya nodded. SHe moved over to the bed, and laid down. She looked over at him, smiling softly. "Sleep calls...."

He nodded, debating weather to simply collapse and fall asleep beside her or go pick Talos' and Turan's brain about the Luiminescent Council.

Nadya sat up. "You aren't coming to bed are you?" she asked.

He smiled "Turan and Talos can wait" he found a comfortable place next to her "Sometimes i wonder if i worry to much about him" he sighed softly then yawned.

Nadya snuggled against him. "We worry about the ones that we care about...." she whispered, kissing his cheek.

"Hmmm, yes i suppose we do....but what else is there to do when you know a friend who is for all intents and purposes also your father is willing to throw his life away in looking after an ungrateful human child? What's beyond me is how does he care for her in the way that he does?" Abarhi sighed, stroking Nadya's hair gently.

"I like Roan...she protected me from the sun when I first headed here.... before the ball.... and for a human that came from another world..... she wasn't afraid of me..." Nadya looked up at him. "Some times those that care about each other fight... I know that my parents had.... but then again mom always won those fights.... and brother would whisper that father let her win to end the fighting because he would rather see her smile than frown....and love.... the heart wants what the heart wants...."

Abarhi conceded "I know, i just...i don't want Turan to end up killing himself but on the same token i would never dare tell Roan the price Turan could potentially pay should she ever share the same feelings for him as he does for her" he kissed her forehead "And i know she can be a good person, and i'm very much thankful of her for protecting you from the sunlight....i just wish Turan wasn't so obsessed with all things dangerous...he acts like he has nothing left to lose, but as soon as someone gets attacked that is clearly not the case"

"His heart is fighting with his mind?" she questioned.

"Very much so...he doesn't..in some cases want to care or is particularly hesitant to care...others he wants to but doesn't know how and so on"

Nadya snuggled closer to Abarhi. "I wish... I... I want them both to be happy, love..."

"He will work past it, if the bond is strong enough and if it is meant to be" he hunkered down with another yawn.

"yes...." she yawned. "...Abarhi..." Her eyes were heavy, and she was soon asleep, snuggled against him.

He dozed off, and for once was able to fall into a deep slumber instead of a nervous rest.

Abarhi felt something licking his cheek, followed by a small 'mew'.

The mew was greeted by a deep snort followed by a steady snore again. His hair hung about his face in a frump. He had slept hard that previous day and night.

The mew 'mew'ed again, and licked his cheek again. "Mew..."

Abarhi stirred "Alright alright i'm up" he mumbled before shaking himself awake.

"Mew..." came Nadya's kitten sound. You're so cute when you're asleep.... I think I had a catnip dream.... I shapeshifted sometime during the night....

Abarhi blushed "Yes perhaps you did, and how is that i'm cute when i sleep?" he looked at the messy mop his hair had become.

Looking up at him with her cute kitten eyes, she mewed. Because you look so at peace, my love....

He kissed her nose "I haven't slept like that i don't think since the first time i brought you hear and since then i don't think ever"

I want you to be able to sleep like that, love.... She licked his nose.

"Right here, with you next to me that is entirely possible" he yawned "So how did you sleep...besides what obviously turned into a catnip dream" he teased.

It was a wonderful dream.... you were there....

he smiled, stroking the fur between her ears and shoulders oh?

I...you.... we.... The kitten actually seemed to blush.

He kissed her on her nose you've had a dream like that to love

Nadya licked his nose. What shall we do?

He yawned what would you like to do?

If you'd like to go back to sleep... you can.... I think I may head to the library...

He sighed i'll meet you there....i take awhile to wake up when i've slept this hard

She licked his nose. Take your time.... She jumped off the bed, and out the door towards the library.

Turan and Talos sat cross legged at opposite ends of the courtyard. Having talked most of the night through practice dueling and display they had decided to take a break "So you are in part the very reason why the god is caged?"

Talos shook his head "I felt it fitting and a small price to pay for the murders my father had me carry out on his behalf"

Turan sighd "So why then? What made you change from invincible assasin to demi-god renegade?"

Talos smiled "You, i forget what you said, perhaps it was that you where defending your family at the time...your wife and children that made me realize the folly in his orders"

Turan stiffled a gasp "My...wife and children?...how?..what where their names?"

Talos hesitated, not sure what to say "Your wife's name is Nearalain...and you have two children...idrial and Kemri...Why aren't they here?" he looked very confused.

Turan shook his head, visibly shaken now "No...no they aren't here...all i remember was waking up somewhere in the wilds nearly 700 years ago to a place of untold carnage...some of the bodies where elf but none of them where female..."

A look of horror dawned on Talos' face, but he said no more. He reached out and placed his hand on Turan's forehead. He recoiled "Yes...yes something has happened to you my friend...something that has left a poison that clouds your mind and makes impossible for me at least to get to you...you've blocked it out...everything..."

Turan opened his eyes "I...i need some time alone Talos...thank you, now i need to find out just what it is that happened"

Talos arose and left, bidding Turan a fond farewell.

Turan walked back inside, sitting by the library. He remembered long ago that he had removed a painting of someone who looked like it might have been him with a strikingly beautiful woman at his side and two young children. The picture had been lost in a fire and at the time he had thought nothing of it. A tear slid down the side of his face as he lit a fire in the hearth "all this time..." he said softly.

A little black kitten came running down the hall.

Turan turned, a heavy look still in his eyes "A kitten? he had forgotten that Nadya could appear as a black cat. He placed a charred picture beneath a lamp "Were'd you come from?" he asked softly more to himself.

The little black kitten stopped in front of him, then jumped into his lap. Turan.... don't you remember? It's me...Nadya... She then licked his hand.

He shook his head with a smile no at first i had forgotten you could turn yourself into a cat...where's Abarhi? Or did the boy finally sleep hard enough to where it actually will take time for him to rise?

He is still trying to wake up.... and I had a catnip dream last night... so I'm stuck like this for a bit.... she meowed. Did you get any sleep? You can tell me if somethings wrong...

He nodded, retrieving with a slightly trembling hands, he showed her the slightly weathered picture whose edges had been slightly burnt. He pointed to an elegant, raven haired woman with saphire blue eyes next to what looked like him only aged far less She was my wife... he moved slowly to the other two figure. One a tall an slender looking man whose blond hair and fiery eyes stood in stark contrast to his otherwise fair complexition this is my son and moving to the last one, a slightly shorter woman though her beauty was as intoxicating as any sirens and this is my daughter....all three of whom died long before i woke up seven hundred years ago... he placed the picture back tenderly under a lamp "Talos told me of them....and their names....he doesn't know what became of them after i apparently dissapeared 20 years before i awoke"

Nadya licked his cheek, and then currled up in his hands. I'm so sorry, Turan....I understand your feelings of sadness... she meowed sadly.

what's even sadder is that i didn't even remember them....i do know why in part why i dissapeared but not why it was for so long...i was pursueing a rare and exceptionally deadly type of assasin known as a Shadowseer....other than that i know nothing...

I'm an ear for you any time, Turan....no matter what....Turan... at the ball....Abarhi spoke with the Prince Evan... Turan... my brother is alive....

After what has transpired in the last few days that doesn't surprise me....i thought that i was probably just a depressed youth...yes even at the age i set myself i am considered relatively young, and yet....i am far older....i think that i must be fifteen hundred years old...but i have no idea because anyone who knew never thought to keep track Turan sighed shaking his head it's alot to grapple with

Turan.... I had kept myself as a child so long for my mother's happiness that I don't even know my age any more....how I should look....

Better to know who you are than live forever wondering what you might have been and not even knowing why it changed

"The shadowseer may have something to do with that old friend" Abarhi said stepping from the shadows in a nearby alcove

Turan surpressed a jump "You haven't lost you edge Abarhi"

Nadya meowed. You awake all the way now, love...?

Abarhi nodded, looking at the portrait beneath the lamp "I thought you moved all the old paintings down into the catacombs?" He his shirt hanging about his shoulders, exposing all manner of old scars.

Turan managed a half hearted smile "Would you go put a set of clothes on?...afterwards i'd like to introduce you to my family" he said softly.

Abarhi shook his head in confusion. Looking from Nadya to Turan and then back at the painting he had so envyed just a few days ago "W...what happened to them?" he ventured, getting a dreaded sense that he wouldn't like the answer.

Turan bowed his head "They are all dead....i'm sure their graves are somewhere in the cemetary not far from here..."

Nadya meowed sadly, and then suddenly shifted into looking human again in Turan's lap. She slipped off, and smiled shyly at Turan. "Sorry..."

He smiled, suddenly a new light came into his eyes "Abarhi...what does the term shadowseer mean to you?" his voice possesed an odd tone.

Abarhi gave a start "For me it means quite abit but why should it mean anything to you?"

Turan turned to him "Because according to Talos and what must have been either mine or my wife's last diary entry....i was pursuing a faux shadow seer...one who had managed to kill the real one and in turn become one"

"What is a Shadowseer, any ways?" asked Nadya looking between them.

Abarhi cleared his throat "Normally, he or she is by far the deadliest assassin to walk this world and there are only ever four of them at a time because each on is only ever answerable to one of the gods and one of them, the solitaire is their leader"

Turan looked at Abarhi "But i thought the shadow seers temple was destroyed all those years ago?"

Abarhi shook his head "The Solitaire was not among those that died"

"so.... does that mean that there is only one of them left...?" she asked.

"Yes...there is only one left, but what i was getting at is this; if someone kills the solitaire he is as powerful then as all four combined, but that also brings me to my other question...What buisness would a high Elf have with one of the gods' most accursed servants?"

Turan shook his head "I do not know, the only reason i can think of is something having to do with the deaths of my family"

Nadya nodded. "I want to help... help you find out what happened...."

Abarhi placed a gentle hand on her shoulder "If there is even a chance that the Solitaire is alive then no love...i know you want to help but believe me the eradication of the other shadow seers only came at great cost....no record of it exists simply because the one thing the other warrior clans such as the one i used to belong to agreed that while the cost to them was such that they would never recover...they also universally felt it best that such knowledge remain absent from the world....i don't want you hurt..."

Turan looked at him "And what makes you think i will let you help me? No, i will see to it that Roan completes the task before her, and then i will see to this business of mine on my own" he added emphases.

Abarhi was surprised "And what about Roan Turan? I know you don't at all believe in outside chances but what if she does share those same feelings as you do? Do you really think that for one moment she would let you pursue this on your own?"

Nadya looked sad. "Turan..." she whispered. "Abarhi... I'm going to go.... I want to get something...." she said softly, and kissed his cheek. "DOn't worry... and please don't fight...besides sparring..."

Abarhi looked at her "Is everything alright love? No we won't fight"

Turan nodded "Alright"

"I just work to go get something some, that's all... " Nadya said with a smile. "I'll be safe..."

Abarhi yawned "Ok" Turan...i think you should just let the shadow seer be...who knows...i seriously doubt it's still the same one...they only last a few hundred years because the gods they serve inevitably turn on them and betray them

Turan looked at a letter he had recieved inviting him to the Luminescent council in a few months time If this shadow seer plans on finishing what he started...it will most likely be here

Nadya looked at the two quiet men, and then started off down the hall. She didn't want Abarhi to worry, but she wanted to go send time at her old family manor. She hurried from the building, having quickly grabbed up a cloak and heading for the boat off the island. Nadya headed onto the boat and across to the mainland to Froth Forest.
