And then there's the usual slate of drawing projects (including your Sakuyro), so I personally need more breathing room (and a lot of rest, followed by a lot of coffee).

2004-01-31 [May-lea]: I agree with that. Before, people bothered to make art request as prizes, too, now they just make a lot of contests where you can win 'badges'. And usually the same people make several contests. I've been waiting for a long time to make mine, and I think I will keep on waiting. There's too much of them. They should be advertised more, maybe, so more people vote.

Im sure my contest didn't get entries that fast...you have to give people time to create an entry, you cant always create something instantly and you don't always have something ready with some of the rarer contests...its taken me at least a month to get it together and make a dee dreslough dragon entry

2004-02-01 [Sirfy]: I think 100 is too many. We have about 109 as it is. The fewer the contests, the more of a chance contests won't be abandoned. I'm thinking about postponing both my contests until this place lowers again. Back then at least it was more enjoyable cause there was more competition. Now there's even less chance of getting over 2 entries. Pointless to have contests here right now. So I'm taking down my 2 contests until that day comes. :-/
2004-02-01 [amuletts]: You know what I don't like? People who use the same picture to enter multiple competitions. It just makes the competitions boring and also undermines the work of people who have created something specific.

I treat my own entries the exact same as teh other entries. There's a poll, so everyone has a chance to pick the winner. That's my point. If you treat it fairly, it's like competing in anyother contest. I think it's just as competitive as any other contest, if not even more so.

2004-02-20 [bratkitty]: I need advice. What do you do when you run a poll for a contest, and you find someone who's artwork isn' t quite as good others ends up in first place? I don't think the person enterin had anything to do with it, but it may be his/her friends or something. How do I bring that to everyone's attention that it's not a popularity contests without making this person feel like they have to withdraw from my contest?
