Here is the student hangout. SHelves with games, books, movies and more line the walls. Lots of cushy seats and small tables are everywhere, the room is a complete mess. A huge, big screened TV is on the main wall, and various artworks are in various places. Here is the place you can come to relax, do whatever, and socialize, maybe even have a party!

Dereth opens the window and climbs in, looking around,(today, i might actually talk to someone....)he thinks to himself.

Eladia sits by the fire in a long red velvet and purple velvet dress and watches Dereth come in. "How have you been?" she asks.

Janus sauntered in; her white and black outfit stood out already, so she figured she might as well make a bold entrance instead of sneaking in like she usually did. She was a little nervous about the new academy, but refused to let it show. Her face was marked with her trademark wry smile, and her icy blue eyes were narrow with one eyebrow quirked, as though something privately amused her. She draped herself over a hard wooden chair close to the window, content to watch before saying anything.

Dareth blinks and turns to the person who spoke to him. he stares for a moment before remembering that he promised he'd actually talk today."fine....i've been.....fine...", his voice is almost a whisper.

Eladia blinks. So much for being friendly. Maybe she could strike up a conversation anyway. "What about you Janus?"

Dereth looked around, thinking"is there an armory in this place?" he asked suddenly, leaning on a lucerne hammer that suddenly appered in his hand.

"I'm... not sure.." Eladia replies, supprised.

Joslyn walks in, a bit turned around in this place. Seeing the people, she becomes a bit shy.

Eladia directs a friendly smile at the newcommer, trying to make everyone feel welcome.

Seeing the friendly smile, Joslyn gives one as she walks over to the young woman. "Hello name's Joslyn."

Dereth sighed, then mumbles something about "checking out the dungeon", heading for the door.

"I'm Eladia." Eladia replies.

"Nice to meet you Eladia." Joslyn says, then looking towards the man that just left, she raises an eyebrow.

Angelus fianly appears after, well, no one really knows what he was doing but for one thing, Angelus was streaching alot and yawning. He looked around and shruged as if he didn't see anyone and then took a seat on a chair. He followed up by tilting the chair bakc and putting his hat over his face, then seeming to fall asleep.

Eladia looks at the newcommer and then tries again to make some conversation. "What do you all think about the school?"

"It's alright I guess." Joslyn replies.

"I believe it fits my personality well," Angelus replied, not caring if the question was to him or not, he was just sort of tired, or, acting like he was...

Joslyn looks at Angelus, "Really? Hmm..."

"Yep, dull," Angelus said, jokingly as he left out a slight laugh that sounded a little fake.

Smiling, Joslyn gives a little laugh. "Ok then."

"So who might you two be?" Angelus asked as he put his feet down and lifted his hat to see everyone.

"Eladia." Eladia replies.

"Nice to meet you Eladia," Angelus replies, "I'm Angelus, er, Sir Angelus."

"Name's Joslyn Gate. It's nice to meet you Sir Angelus."

"Nice to meet you too Sir Angelus. Know when do classes start?" asked Eladia.

"Don't think I'd be in the commons if I knew," he replied, putting his boots back onto the table.

Rynsana stood in the door way and watched the others for a short time, just leaning against the door frame, she smiled slightly.

Joslyn rolls her eyes at Angelus' comment.

"We wouldn't assume to know your thoughts," Rynsana answered the silence, "And what is to say that you wouldn't...?" she raised a brow as she stood in the shadow. "Time works to no one's advantage," I've learned that...

Startled by the new voice, Joslyn turns around, puzzled.

Ryn smiled at Joslyn's look of confusion. I suppose I should introduce myself... she thought.

Joslyn locates the voice with her eyes, "Hello."

"Goodday" answered Ryn, inclining her head to Joslyn, "I'm sorry, I'm new here." she said, stepping out of the shadows and offering Joslyn her hand and a small smile, "I go by Rynsana," she paused, waiting for the other girl to introduce herself.

Joslyn takes the offered hand, giving a smile,"Name's Joslyn. New here also."

Angelus did not move from his position, even when he heared the voice, he was just........sleeping?

"A pleasure," Ryn said politly, bowing her head. Then she raised her brows at Angelus, Terribly energetic isn't he? she thought wryly but she also senced that he was not truyl sleeping in truth. Just watching and waiting.

Eladia introduces herself also. "I'm Elaida. Nice to meet you Rynsana." she says.

"Likewise, Eladia," Rynsana responded, offering the other girl a reserved smile and she bowed her head in greating.

"I am sorry have i interupted something?" Kathryn asked from the door way.

Angelus just sat there, not caring about the two and there conversation, nor about the girl who just entered.

"No," said Ryn, leaning against a chair, but not sitting. "Not at all, welcome." she smiled, but the smile was only half there.

Joslyn smiles at the newcomer. "Hello," offers hand, "Name's Joslyn."

Kathryn offers a tentative smile in return. She grasps Joslyn's hand and says " Kathryn." She lets go of Joslyn's hands and goes to an unoccupied part of the room that is a little darker, she leans up against the wall and watches all around her.

"I'm Elaida." Eladia says.

Janus readjusted her position on her chair so that she faced everyone. "Eladia," she said, nodding at her, "Joslyn, Angelus, Rynsana, and Kathryn. And Dereth, except he left." She folded her arms. "This conversation has given me your names and bits and pieces of your personalities as well. But I'm afraid I have to visit my quarters; I was sent here and have not seen my room yet." She stood and bowed, flourishing her cape. "I hope to enjoy your company again soon." Turning, she strode out again, her soft boots making little noise on the carpet.

Kathryn lifted an eyebrow at the girls departure but remained silent.

"When did you all find out you were comming here?" asks Eladia.

Ryn waited in silence for the others to answer, but it was clear that they were as hesitant as she. Her keen amber eyes stalked the room for a moment, as if measuring each person for the amount of truth she should expose. Then she smiled, a rather arm expression for one with such hard eyes. "Not long ago, really. A few weeks. It came as a surprise. I was..." she stopped short at that and leaned back against the chair she was resting on. Deciding to let the others now speak their own truths.

Eladia decides to answer her own question. "I found out a bout a month ago. I was supirsed too. Still not sure what to think."

"A month and a half ago." Kathryn answered not wanting to be rude.

Ryn nodded her head slowly in acceptance of the other girls' answers. "Don't people say that the best things in life take you by surprise?" she said.

Hesitant to answer Kathryn decided to be polite and replied, " Yes...but some surprises I could do without."

Ryn turned amber eyes on Kathryn and they softened. "...yes....." she said simply, then turned her eyes to the ground and fell into a dark silence.

Mirielda entered the room wearing her navy gown. She has not met anyone from the school yet so she thought commons room would be the best place to get to know people. She saw several girls sitting and chatting in the room. She sits on a chair near them and introduces herself. "Hi." -her full, chery colored lips stretched into a warm smile- " it is nice to see new people because I haven't had the chance to meet with anyone since I arrived here. Well I only arrived last night so I guess that makes sense. Besides I had a lot to do you know... arranging my room, all those stuff.." She realizes that she's talked too much again so she hushes herself with closing her mouth gently with her fingers and lowering her head with a smile on her face. " well sorry I can get carried away some time. So my name is Mirielda. yours?" She looks at the them waiting for an answer. She doesn't seem as enthusiastic as before for she has calmed down but her eyes glittered with warmth.

Ryn smiled and raised a brow in welcome to the new girl. "No worries," she said, at least she's not shy, she thought cynicaly. "Welcome, my names Rynsana, this is Kathryn and Eladia." she motionned to each girl in turn.

"And I'm Joslyn. It's nice to meet you." Joslyn offered a warm smile.

Mirielda was happy to meet new people. "It's nice to meet you all." She said then repositioned herself in a comfortable position and looked around, feeling anxious about the new school. "So when did you arrive here?"

"Ummm," Joslyn was trying to remember. "I don't really know. That is I don't remember."

Mirielda looked at Joslyn quiet confused. "So you have been here for a long time?"

"Time seems to be different here." Kathryn observed aloud.

The expression on Mirielda's face got serious and she asked curiously: " what do you mean?"

" It seems as if the rules that applied when we were out in the 'real' world to not apply at all or in the same way." Kathryn responded.

Joslyn tilted her head to the side, absorbing what Kathryn just explained.

"oww... I understood..that's strange but not expected since this is a magic school. some things should be different from the real world. right? ... So what do you do around here at school?

She was interrupted by another girl coming into the room, a wide smile on her face. "Hey, everyone. I'm Allie. Actually Alyson, but I don't like it, so Allie." Without waiting for a response she went and sat down opposite to them. "Are you all new as well?"

"I take it that I'm not the only newcomer..." said another girl who'd entered behind Allie. "I'm Kristi"

Allie turned and grinned, a strand of brown hair falling in her eyes. "Hey Kristi! How are you? I'm Allie. I've been here all of five minutes, so far, but it's looking pretty good!"

Mirielda looked happily at the newcomers. "Hi Allie, Hi Kristi! I'm Mirielda and this is Rynsana, Kathryn Eladia and Joslyn.Nice to meet you." *Grinning " Welcome by the way I am new as well."

Angelus ended up falling backwards, out of his chair, he had possibly fallen asleep. "I'm okay," he reasured everyone who even noticed, then got up and sat in the same chair, after he picked it up of course. Angelus felt a little foolish, but he wasn't able to undo the past, so, oh well.

Kristi blinked, taking in all the new information. "Nice to meet you all!" she smiled slightly before taking the seat next to Allie. She then put down the backpack she was carrying and placed it on the floor next to her.

Joslyn smiled at the newcomers, "Well looks like a nice turnout, huh?"

"Hello." Kathryn responded to the new comers.

"Are you okay?" Asked Allie to Angelus, an amused look on her face. "I didn't get your name...?"

"It's Angelus, and I'm fine, just tired really," Angelus said to the girl. "And you are? I don't believe I got your name as well."

"Angelus? Damn, and my parents called me Alyson..." She said, half to herself, but loud enough so that everyone could hear it. She looked back at the boy, who had recovered from his sheepish look a minute before. "Allie."

"Well my parents are strange," Angelus commented. "But it's noce to meet you miss Allie, er, Alyson, whichever you prefer to be called," he said, getting mixed up with the names, it seemed like everyone had two names there days, well, to Angelus it did.

" Alyson is a pretty name, Allie is also very nice." Joslyn said with a half smile.

"So I should refer you as miss Alyson Allie then?" Angelus asked, not really confused now, but really playing games.

Allie sighed and put her face in her hands, but when she removed them she was grinning. "Thanks, uhm, Joslyn," she said, struggling for a name, "but I don't like Alyson. Reminds me of my grandma. And Angelus, just Allie. Ah. I hate names.."

Angelus just shook his head and started to leave the commons to go to his room. "I'll catch you later Allie, I have buissness to attend to," and with that he was gone.

Allie looked at the others, a strange look on her face. She shrugged it back, and smiled, happy for the change.

After a moment, Kristi became rather bored. "sooo..." she said, trying to put in some conversation. "How much time do we have until classes or whatever start?"

Ryn shrugged, "I don't really know." she said, leaning back in her chair. "Hopefully soon."

Allie sighed. "I know what you mean." She said, smiling. "Even though I normally hate school, I'm really looking forward to being here."

Ryn nodded, "Yes, there is something promising about this place." then she flushed, "I've never really been to a school before... so this is all new to me."

"Oh, I guess I've been pretty lucky, education wise." Allie said, stretching. "But the best part is the people." She made a disgusted face and a very strange noise "I hated my last school."

"I know what you mean... if the people hate you, you tend to hate everything else about school as well." added in Kristi in a soft voice.

Allie leant over and gave her an impromptu hug. "I'll be your friend if I don't annoy you too much."

"Why should you care what others think?" Kathryn asked from her seat.

Ryn smiled to herself.

A red-haired girl walked quietly into the room, with her green cloak making a soft noise.

"Greetings", she said smoothly, and sat at a small chair near the window. She started staring out of it, deeply thinking.

"Thanks." Kristi said with a smile before turning to Kathryn. "It's not necessarily and issue about what people think when they..." she shrugged it off and changed the topic. "Hello over there!" she called to the girl near the window. "Are you a newcomer like me? I'm Kristi by the way."

Allie shrugged. "Are you okay over there?"

Suddenly, the girl by the window realized that someone was talking to her. She smiled calmly and said: " I am sorry for not introducing myself. I am Glastenen."

"Do you have like a nickname or something, or do you want us to call you that?" Asked Allie..

The red haired girl smiled sadly.

"No, please, it is Glastenen they call me, and Glastenen will be"

"umm.. ok. Glastenen, then. Where are you from, Glastenen?" asked Kristi.

"I come from places far away", said Glastenen "although I am not sure, how much <<away>> this castle is..." she added.

She stared for a moment at the others.

"Are you all from the same place?", she asked a little confused.

"I guess we've just had a little more time to get to know each other." Said Allie, running a hand through her hair. "I didn't know anyone here before I arrived."

Glastenen nodded indifferently, and decided not to continue this conversation. Probably talking with her classmates was not that interesting as her own thoughts. She continued staring out of the window, murmuring a soft tune.

Kristi sighed. "Anybody wanna play a game?" she indicated the shelves of games, books, movies, etc... "Or any other ideas of what to do to pass the time?"

"I don't know," Allie said, sighing. "Anything. I'm bored. Anything interesting ever happen to any of you guys?"

Glastenen immediately stopped murmuring, and a cruel silence dominated the next few seconds. She stared strangely at Allie for a while, then said with a smile on her pale face "We should play a game"

"Okay!" Allie said enthusiastically, not noticing the strange look on the new girl's face. "What sort of game?"

On Glastenen's face interest was clear -the first time, since she entered the room.
"We can make a song together", she said. From her cloak's pocket, she pulled out a small flute made of reed...

Allie watched in interest, her eyes reflecting the dim light, her carefree expression fallen slightly. She seemed serious. "I didn't realise you were musical."

"I think you haven't either yourself realised you are musical", said Glastenen mysteriously. "We are all. Music is not one with us- it runs from us..."
She stopped for a while, almost enjoying the expression on Allie's face.

Kristi smiled. "It's true." She didn't add that she practically lived off of music...

Glastenen smiled to Kristi. She could see an understanding there...Without caring if she knows the names of all the people in the room, or if they notice her, she started playing a sweet melody, after saying "You will sing, with words of yours"

"I'll sing" replied Kristi. She paused for a moment to remember a poem she'd written earlier and attempted to fit it into the melody.

Allie attempted a smile. "I know what you mean about music." She said softly, "But you're wrong. I know it's a part of me. I'd love to play in your game."

Kristi grinned. "yay!" she thought for a moment before adding. "hmmm... should we sing by line or by verse?" indicating that they'd take turns singing in words for the melody.

"Whatever you prefer", said Glastenen calmly interrupting her playing "I will just play. Listen to the music, and imagine whatever you want. Then, sing"

Allie sighed, and folded her long fingers together. "Sometimes the best songs have no words." She said softly, half to herself, barely heard of the sound of Glastenen's flowing melody. "I have to go." She said suddenly, her eyes wild and nervous, and left the room without looking back.

Kristi blinked. "That was weird..." she said to no one in particular. No sure she wanted to continue a game in which someone had run out on, she sat in silence and just listened.

Even if Glastenen seemed to be completely lost in her music, she had noticed and listened everything. But she continued playing for a while, while everybody as listening. As she was playing, a small pidgeon flew to the window, and stayed there, in silence. Another one came. When Glastenen stopped playing, the birds flew away genlty.

After a moment in silence, Kristi picked up her bag and took out a what seemed to be a sketch book and began to draw on her lap

Allie returned a moment later, a little breatheless, but if she thought her suddenly disapearence was strange, she didn't show it. Her face, which before had been so full of energy and mixed enthusiastic emotion seemed dullened and calm. "I'm sorry." She said, with a surprising amount of dignity. Then began singing in an deep alto tone, sometimes staying on the melody that had been played a seconf before, sometimes skipping to harmonic tones when she got to the end of her range.
"I dreamt I could fly, and see the world from wings and I dreamt I could run away.
I dreamt I could swim, deep down, far away, and I dreamt I could escape.
I dreamt I was free, but my dream fell away, and-" She coughed, her voice faltering and she paused, then picked up her melody again, " then all that was left was me."

Glastenen looked at the two girls, pondering. She smiled at Allie. Then, returned to her day-dreaming, out of the window...

"Would you mind playing again?" Kathryn asked sitting back down in her chair. She had run out of the room when Glastenen had started playing and now she was back with an unidentifiable case.

Allie looked at the floor. Wood. She was thinking, her mind softly going through the options in her head. "Which instrument do you play?" She asked Kathryn

"I play a few but I brought down my violin. If you still want to sing I will play." Kathryn responded.

Allie smiled slighty, but didn't look at Kathryn. "No, I don't really like singing. I just don't like backing down. I mean, I said I'd sing. But, uhm, I play.. uhm, just a minute." She ran out, and not not return for a while, and then when she did, she was carrying a huge case on her back, looking almost like an ant. "Ahh." She said, putting it down gently. "There. I had to ask them not to put it in my room."
She smiled, her face lighting up truly for the first time, her eyes clear and bright.
"I won't sing." She said. "How about a duet?"

"Is that a base or a chello? What is it? Sure a duet would be cool but what about a little wind orchestra? Glastenen?" Kathryn replied and gave a small smile.

"A cello." Allie said quietly, still brimming with happiness. She unstrapped the case and opened it, removing her bow, and tightening the hairs, then put it next to her, took her cloak off and put it on the floor.
Carefully, she removed the instrument, being careful not to hit it on the side of the case, and extended the spike, then put it gently on her cloak, so it wouldn't slide on the wooden floor. She got into postition, holding her bow with a thumb and two fingers, and played the open D string, sliding the bow steadily across the string until the note faded away.
"So, Glastenen," she said to the red-headed girl sitting quietly by herself. "Are you interested?"

Joslyn stepped away from the table she was sitting at.

"Are you alright Joslyn?" Kathryn asked quietly.

Joslyn looks at Kathryn, "Yes I am fine." She gave her friend a smile.

"Do you have any musical talents?" Asked Allie to Joslyn, smiling softly.

"Well ummm, I took piano for 3 years, and guitar for 3 months." Joslyn said with a smirk. "However I can't play anything. I can sing though."

"That's great." Allie said, honestly sounding interested. "What sort of voice do you have?"

Joslyn laughed nervously, "I can sing sorpano, but mostly alto."

"Will you sing something?" Allie asked. "I'd accompany you, but I'm terrible at singing-music. Classical is all I can do." She added quietly. "Anything. It doesn't matter what you sing."

A blush crept into Joslyn's cheeks, "I'm not the good but if you accompany me I think we'll do alright." She gave a smile.

Allie smiled. "Sure. I guess. Uh, What song do you want to sing? If you begin I'll try to accompany."

Kathryn took her violin and warmed up a bit while Joslyn was deciding on which song.

"Ummm..." Joslyn said feeling uncomfortable being put on the spot.

Kathryn started to play. It was a medly; some countries anthems, then a christmas, then some anthems. Kathryn thought that some song would jog Joslyn's memory and she would jump in with the lyrics.

Glastenen was listening and watching very carefully, but she did noy say anything, nor participated in the small orchestra.

An christmas song came to mind for Joslyn, "How 'bout Hark the Hearld?"

Kathryn smiled and played an intro then picked up the song.

Joslyn smiled as in a thanks to Kathryn. "Ok." She yawned and she was ready. "Hark the Hearld Angels sing......"

Mirielda opened her eyes.. She fell asleep and when she woke up she saw new people have come . "sorry I fell asleep and seems like missed a lot of things. Well I guess I'd better go to my room and sleep. So I'll see you guys later ok? by the way you have a nice voice Kathryn." she smiled and got up she realized how tired she was and left the commons for her room.

Kathryn smiled and chuckled "I am not singing." She called after Mirielda before she was out of sight.

Kristi looked up and smiled at the mini orchestra and the singing Joslyn. "Can I join in?" she asked, wondering if it was too late.

Joslyn kept singing, but nodded to Kristi to join.

Kristi saw Joslyn nod and began to sing. She sang softly in her soprano voice as not to have her voice stand out too much in the vocal duet.

Ryn smiled and her amber eyes danced as she listened.

Kathryn was reaching the end of the song. She finished with a small flurish. " Any other requests?"

Elsbeth walks in at the end of a song, with a small bag over her sholder, a sword at her side. Looking around, searching all the shadows, and a little jumpy at any quick movements. "Excuse me, I just arrived, I heard the music, so I came here. Which way to the dorms?

Ryn motionned down a hall near to where Elsbeth stood. "That way, I think." she suggested, not exactly sure herself. "Mine is anyway..."

A girl of about 14 or 15 steps into the room. She wears a black trenchcoat, and her hair is a dark black or brown. Her eyes look sad, as she says "Hi. I'm Enya."

Ryn turned somber amber eyes on the new girl, she offered her a smile. "Hey. I'm Ryn."

"It's nice to meet you Ryn" Enya smiled, her eyes still filled with sadness. As if not even a smile could
change it.

"'Ello Enya! Name's Joslyn. Nice to have you here." The young woman offers a smile, yet notices a sadness in the other young woman's eyes.

"It is nice to be here too." Enya says to her.
