~: Animals :~

Animals are different from monsters because they are easily domesticated and generally have a more gentle demeanor. Most animals appear as natural creatures, not the distorted results of the introduction of undead mutation or chaotic aeon experiments. Animals that die in combat are the same as if characters die in combat, they can be brought back by holy, demonic, or undead intervention. Otherwise they stay dead.

~: Mounts :~

Mounts are animals that can be ridden by characters, adding a much higher mobility, strength, or simply to take damage in place of their rider with their much higher durability. Killing a rider upon a mount is far more difficult than killing the rider without a mount.

Bovines: Bulls, Oxen, Wildebeast, etc. Usually good at heavy labor and pulling large objects.
Equines: Donkeys, Horses, Mules, etc. Common mounts, usually good for long distance travel.
Ornis: Cora, Moa, Diatrema, etc. Attacking mounts with crushing beaks, not nearly as fast but quite threatening.
Pachyderm: Elephant, Mastodon, Mammoth, etc. Large & durable mounts, usually so immense that they scare off many foes.

~: Predators :~

Predators are animals that act as an additional ally for a character, to become a partner that can fight, track, or use skills independant of the character's turn. Predators often fight alongside their master, and are incredibly loyal. Predator animals usually have the best attack and attack rates, some even have skills that can be rather useful during combat.

Canines: Wolves, Wargs, Hounds, etc. Usually good at tracking hidden targets.
Felines: Pumas, Tigers, Wildcats, etc. Usually agile and have quick attacks, but are fragile.
Ursines: Bears, Kodiaks, Pandas, etc. Usually big and have powerful attacks, tend to be difficult to hunt with.
Vulpines: Foxes, Jackals, Coyotes, etc. Usually adept at stealth & thievery, not as great in combat.

~: Scouts :~

Scouts are animals that act as a second pair of eyes to scout terrain, dangers, or gather food. Scouts can even deliver messages to others while the character is in danger, but scouts generally lack attacking skills beyond simple, light mêlée. Scouts are best used to support the hunter by means other than attacking, usually to give them a much higher range of skills.

Icarins: Bats, Buers, Dhampirs, etc. Great terrain scouts with incredible agility, not many attacking skills.
Raptors: Eagles, Owls, Hawks, etc. Usually good scouts with some attacking skills.
Rodents: Mice, Rabbits, Beavers, etc. Usually stealthy scouts with high agility, not many attacking skills.
Primates: Monkeys, Lemurs, Gliders, etc. Usually trickster allies that have high agility and thieving skills.

.: Automatons :
Automatons are only available to Centran Human Hunters for defaults, but can be built by mechanics of sufficient skill.

Automatons are the primary ally for centrans, and if not for these mechanical wonders their culture would have been eradicated long ago. Automatons are incredibly powerful, often considered the ultimate among animal allies for both durability and precision.

Mount: Sojourner. Incredibly fast single person mount, hovers over the ground and uses turbines for movement.
Predator: Hunter Killer. Highly skilled attacker, can be more powerful than the hunter themselves, do not let the name fool you... they are incredibly loyal even to hunters.
Scout: Toy. Very agile and performs a myriad of skills, most passive and not particularly dangerous to anything, but very useful.
