Elves
Elves are a race based around evasion, granting them a powerful defensive combat advantage. Small armies of elves are able to hold off much larger forces on familiar ground, thanks to their stealth and heightened senses. They do falter when moving in large groups though, as their stealth advantage fades considerably and becomes more difficult to hide such a force.
Advantages
Stealth
All elf units are able to hide in their domains, hidden by a layer of their environment (trees, tall grasses, rocks, darkness, etc). They can strike while hidden, but their position will be revealed. However, they may move to another position and hide until ready for another strike, allowing elves to be masters of guerilla warfare in territory they are familiar with. Elven buildings in a similar manner can also be hidden among the trees, many of them built from the trees themselves.
Longevity
Elves have a abnormally long lifespan thanks to their elven wellsprings, thus allowing their people to not suffer a mortals fate from age. They are still vulnerable to death from combat, but do not suffer diseases as greatly as other races.
Nature's Blessing
Elves are ultimately linked to their habitat, allowing them to gather resources without harming their environment. Resources such as lumber, grass, & other plant based resources can be harvested without depleting or destroying the supply. This allows elves to significantly develop towns without a lacking in resources, though advanced structures requiring stone or metal are still limiting.
