Ferals

The Origin of the ferals dawns with the reign of a single warlock demon who sought to reconquer the world with a race of creatures developed from the most cunning and physically adept of creatures. These became known as the ferals, because their race was indeed birthed from the wild. The few ferals that exist stemmed from canine, ursine, and feline creatures scattered around the world, but the insuing conflict against the warlock sent him to the far reaches of the world and scattered his creatures back to the wilderness. Most of their kind were hunted and eradicated, however some proved to be docile or passive compared to the more feral of their kind. Mainly the canine varieties survived, for their near domestic quality with the reigning races of man helped them become quick allies rather than rabid enemies. Many of the felines have never been able to craft a culture for themselves but they still exist in the wilds. Like the felines, the ursine too vanished into the wilderness only to emerge rarely for curiosity or necessity.

Feral benefits are various, but all are so well adapted to nature that they all have an increased accuracy with attacks.

Canines

Gnolls
Gnoll Feral Name Database

Gnolls are the ferals of the more domestic variety of canines. Their race has developed from the lycanthrope culture they used to be in order to better the homonid races as an ally in culture. Though their dark heritage still remains, Gnolls are more in tune with the working of the grasslands and patrol them often. Before their alliance with the elven kind, Gnolls were hated by their Lycanthrope cousins for fleeing to the homonid races. After ages of strife, the two began a bitter war between their races. After the alliance with the elves, the Gnolls began to finally take back their lands ravaged by their wild cousins. Now the Gnolls have become the most easily recognized feral race in the world as their numbers are no longer considered wild.
* Typically range in neutral colors of browns, blacks, whites, and greys, nothing flamboyant.
* Gnolls typically wear leather armor, as their culture wastes little resources.
* Native to the Great Adon Grassland regions.
- Incredible stamina, Gnolls are most adept with forces of strength and fortitude in the daylight hours. Most are very agile as well compared to other mortal races.
- Not as adept with magical knowledge.
- Expert hunters.
- Expert trackers.

Lycanthropes
Lycanthrope Feral Name Database

Lycanthropes are Gnolls who have gone more towards the ways of Darkness and prefer to remain nocturnal in nature. Shunned by their canine cousins, the wolf-like Lycanthropes and Gnolls entered a bitter rivalry between each other until the Lycanthropes were outcasted from the Great Adon Grasslands because of the overwhelming allies the Gnolls had over their kind. They now retain their wild and dark ways on the Forsaken Island of Lith, ruled by the demonic Lord Pumpkinhead. They have since become like children to the stilted demon and moniter his island as rangers to keep the vile ways of order and serenity away from its shores.
* Commonly black of hair color, though a rare white haired breed does occur.
* Lycanthropes typically wear bone armors, mainly from their kills.
* Native to the Great Adon Grassland regions, but forced exile to Lith.
- Incredible stamina, Lycanthropes are most adept with forces of strength and fortitude throughout the midnight hours. Most are very agile as well compared to other mortal races.
- Not as adept with magical knowledge.
- Expert hunters.
- Expert trackers.

Ibizan Gnolls
Ibizan Gnoll Feral Name Database

The Ibizan Race of Gnolls is a strange variety of nearly hairless canines with long, thin ears and tails. While they do embrace the cultures of the homonids surrounding them, they have not forgotten their wild ways and can be rather lethal in a battle. Ibizans are also quite adept with magic, which is a rarity among their feral kind. Most dabble in dark arts as the desert is harsh and cruel, which only strengthens their necessity to be as equally harsh and cruel. Most rarely band together with other Ibizans for strange reason that remain in mystical practices of their social behavior.
* Commonly black of hair color, though very short and fine hair.
* Ibizan Gnolls are often considered taller than they actually are because of their thin bodies.
* Native to Arabia, Ægypt, and Nubian deserts.
- Increased resistance to the effects of hot weather.
- While suffering slightly from thinner bodies, Ibizan's are much better spellcasters than that of other canines.
- Expert hunters.
- Expert trackers.

Kitsune
Kitsune Feral Name Database

Kitsune are smaller, fox-like Ferals that seperated long ago from their Gnoll and Lycanthrope cousins in Adon. They live deep within the mountainsides of the Andoria countryside in all its splendor. Their keen senses and quick reflexes more than make up for their slightly smaller stature. Like all Ferals, they suffer from territorial issues and generally keeps their race from ever truly trusting others, even among their own population. Compared to other Feral races, Kitsune are far more playful and kind but still maintain the tenacity that makes their race famous among the world. They often serve as rangers and trackers in the Andorian militaries because of their natural skills and senses, but are not without skill in martial arts and weaponry. Although slightly shorter than average sized beings, it is folly to underestimate a Kitsune in battle.
* Commonly light brown to reddish tan of hair color.
* Kitsune typically remain reclusive in their mountain communities, though have found bounty in the homonid realms.
* Native to the Andorian mountains, though they do venture into the plainlands often.
- Stealthy, kitsune often hide very well from races that are not expert trackers.
- Kitsune are quite the tricksters, often dabbling in some form of illusion magic.
- Expert trackers.

Ursines

Wendigos
Wendigo Feral Name Database

The Wendigo Race is one of the more rarely seen Feral Races in the world since they are somewhat removed from common contact with homonid creatures. Unknown why their race is held in such high regard, but it may be because of how entuned to nature they are along with their strict philosophy and spirit worship. Wendigos are rather peaceful Ferals, but not without their senses of territory and tenacity remaining a strong influence. Wendigo Military is near non-existant, but they have a militia force that defends their forest domains called the Ursa Warriors. This legion of fighters is unmatched when considering their size and Feral tenacity are paired together into a single brutish champion of the woodlands. Added to their keen senses and goliath strengths, they are warriors to be reckoned with by any evil creature that strays into their holy domain.
* Commonly brown of hair.
* While large and powerful, their docile ways often attract smaller wildlife to them.
* Native to the northwest forest regions of Adon.
- Wendigo's larger size often provides them with greater durability and strength.
- While not as powerful spellcasters, Wendigos often find their shamanistic ways enlightening to the plant-life surrounding them.
- Increased resistance to botanical earth damage.

Polar Wendigos
Polar Wendigo Feral Name Database

The Polar Wendigo Race is one of the more rarely seen Feral Races in the world since they are somewhat removed from common contact with homonid creatures in the northern regions of the world. Often mystical and so rare that some consider their kind to be spirits of the winter rather than a sentient race. Though very powerful, their reclusive ways makes them a rarity anywhere but a valued ally in combat. Most of their culture is considered tribal or nomadic, as the permafrost offers little chance of a thriving civilization into the far reaches of the north. Most Polar Wendigos are found in the northern outpost of the winter elves, called Wynthier. Much of what is known about these ferals come from this domain.
* Commonly white of hair.
* Large and powerful, but typically remain docile and reclusive in wintery societies.
* Native to the deep permafrost of Vinincia and Northern Adon.
- Polar Wendigo's larger size often provides them with far greater durability and fortitude in the colder climate of the north.
- While not as powerful spellcasters, Polar Wendigos often find their shamanistic ways empowering to the ices that surround them.
- Increased resistance to the effects of cold weather.

Pandigos
Pandigo Feral Name Database

Pandigos are a mysterious race of Andoria that show no signs of civilization on the mountaintops or the valleys below. In myth, there tells of a floating city that hovers in the clouds away from sight of the lands below. They are not a violent race, and prefer to eat tough vegetables such as the odd botanical growth bamboo, although some believe them to be flesh-eaters, which is truly ridiculous. Although non-violent on a whole, they have technologies passed onto them by ancients. They are sometimes asked to enlist within the ranks of the Andorian Military and serve with their allies. However, though they easily accept the offer to serve, they are not always easily found in order to ask them to do so. Although difficult to attain thier allegiance, it is certainly worth the effort and Pandigo weaponry is among the most powerful in the world.
* Always a colored mix of white a black, with ears and eyes always blackened hair.
* Pandigos are
* Native to Shang Rala, a seemingly mythical city of the sky.
- Pandigo's larger size often provides them with greater durability and strength.
- Pandigos are stangely powerful spellcasters for a feral race.
- Increased knowledge of foreign technologies.
- Always carry a strange botanical material, called bamboo, with properties ranging closer to metals than of wood.

2004-06-16 [Benu]: And truly, it could be any type of animal, it all depends on the genes....

2004-06-16 [Adaman]: Well I want them to mostly be a Cat or Dog, or in the case of a Wendigo a bear, but technically bears are related to dogs so that works. I just want Ferals to be of those two. Maybe ferrets too if there is such a race.

2004-06-16 [Benu]: Well in the example it was a dog so.... I'm not really all that sure.

2004-06-17 [Adaman]: well I already have 4 dog types. Well wolf, dog, jackal, and fox.

2004-07-10 [Adaman]: Update: New race, Pandigos. Yay!

2004-07-10 [Benu]: YAY!

2004-07-11 [Benu]: Hmm... I'm thinking Lycanthrope for the Dojo of the Rat, but they only live in Lith, though it would make for a very interesting story...

2004-07-11 [Adaman]: Just because their homeland is Lith, it doesn't mean that they haven't moved elsewhere

2004-09-08 [Benu]: What happened to the Jakal Gnolls?

2004-09-09 [Adaman]: I changed the name to Ibizan

2004-09-09 [Benu]: Oh, you wanna change that in Arneas too then?

2004-09-09 [Adaman]: What is there to change? we have no "Jackal Gnoll" characters and the recent foes we faced were called Ibizans.

2004-09-09 [Benu]: Apparantly you realized what I was speaking of...

2005-11-04 [Kiche]: What do these creatures look like? Like anthros?

2005-11-04 [Adaman]: Yes, they look like anthros. Some of them have pictures in the name databases that show what they look like if you want to see them.

2005-11-04 [Kiche]: Cool, May i suggest you finish putting up pictures. I would really like to see a gnoll.

2005-11-04 [Adaman]: If I had the pictures drawn, I would put them up.

2005-11-04 [Kiche]: alright. So can you help me create a character now?

2005-11-04 [Adaman]: Well first I suggest you look through the classes before you decide on what sort of race you'll be wanting. After all, you should think about your fighting style first. Race bonuses will surely help or hurt depending on how wisely you start your character creation.

2005-11-05 [Kiche]: I dont know my fighting type though?

2005-11-05 [Adaman]: Check Fantasma Classes, and I'm sure you'll find one that you like.
