Quick Facts
Appearance...
- A rather thin stalked plant that is fairly flexible.
- A very wide brimmed leaf has developed into a sort of mouth that has many sharp "teeth" attached to either side of it.
- Most are very green, with a rather colorful mouth which is used to draw in curious prey.
Habitat...
- Native only to the Orichalcos wilds of Atlantis.
- Though native to Orichalcos, Geomancers have long since held the practice of summoning these creatures to aid them as defenders in battle.
- Mostly used as a defensive summoning creature, because Fly-Traps are unable to move beyond the point that they are rooted.
Behavior...
- With great pressure, the mouth leaf closes in on struggling victims and the long teeth become a cage, and the target is squeezed to a point that they can no longer move.
- Serrated edges on their leaves serve to deter scavengers from stealing their digesting meal, and are quite limber as they can be used like arms with sawblades. Most do not think of the sharpness of the edges until they have been cut by them.
- The entire digestion process starts and ends in the mouth leaf, after nutrients are absorbed by the mouth, the remainder of the carcass serves as fertilizer as bacteria decay the waste.
