*Stone Sleep
"During the day, gargoyles will sleep encased within stone. This allows them to regenerate with ease, and keep them immune to all magic and most attack while slumbering within their exoskeleton."
During Daytime, stone sleeps allows Gargoyles to fully regenerate their injuries. However this does make them vulnerable and thus they only voluntarily "stone sleep" high on steep cliffsides or atop castle walls.

Drops
When killed the monster will drop...
- Stones: Supplies for the creation of stone weapons or armor. (Enough for ~3 'light' weapons or armor, or ~1 'average' weapon or armor)
- Essence of Stone: Special rocks that can be ground to make earth spell casting potions.

Description

Many wizards think that Gargoyles are not of the natural order of evolution, and were a creation of demons. This is supported in theory because they cannot possibly be organic in origin, rather of demonic influence on stone statues long ago in the past. This could give rise to an explanation as to why they are stone during daylight, when ancient demonic influence is said to be at its weakest.

Gargoyles are the dominant guardian type on the island of Lith, although it is suspected that they thrive throughout the world in haunted towers, and abandoned keeps. Most of them will only remain huddled around the safery of steep ledges, because of their vulnerabilities to daylight conditions.

While vulnerable during the day, they are nearly unstoppable at night. So many vitamancers will cast daylight to avoid conflict with these monsters temporarily. During the day, these monsters will hide high on dangerous cliffs so that would-be Gargoyle slayers would risk a deadly drop just to crush one in their stone state.
