Quick Facts
Appearance...
- Hippogriffs appear like eagles at first glance, with all but the tail in appearance. However their hindquarters are much like an equine, which they earn from the rare mating of a griffen and a horse.
- A Hippogriff has curious tufts of feathers that look like ears, however they open during flight to allow for amazing agility at higher speeds.
- Often thin and light for their size, though they owe their flight to magical properties which are derived from their griffin fathers.
Habitat...
- Hippogriffs are rare anywhere on Adon, and typically are loners until adopted by a powerful wizard.
- Unlike Griffins, Hippogrifs spend much of their time out of the open plainlands of the Great Adon Grassland.
- Hippogriffs never fit in with griffins, and so they spend most of their time trying to earn a place with a stallions herd.
Behavior...
- Hippogriffs long for companionship, and so they are very easily domesticated but incredibly hard to find.
- A Hippogriff is hated by the Griffin kind, normally leading to a lethal encounter were Hippogriffs become little more to their fathers than a difficult hunt.
- Hippogriffs lack the attraction to gold and shiny metals, but absolutely adore jewelry fitted to them. Nothing spells love more to them than a gemstone fitted to a necklace.
