Quick Facts
Appearance...
- Landstriders are very tall animals, with stilts measuring well over 10' in height. Those who ride these animals must hang ropes from their sides to climb onto these creatures.
- Landstriders have long whiskers, and a deep gullet under their throat which stores a very long tongue (~3' in length) which they use to drink and eat with. A suction end on the tongue is used to store water as it is brought up to the mouth.
- The ends of their stilts have not hooves, but rather three spiked formations which they use to stab into the soil for grip at very high speed.
Habitat...
- Centra, Nubia.
- Often found racing through the grasslands at speeds that put a sprinting Manticore to shame.
- Typically domesticated by Nubians for their speed which makes hunting on strider back much more successful.
Behavior...
- Landstriders are without contest for speed, even the swiftest of Manticore have trouble in catching these stilted beasts.
- Landstriders are cumbersome and awkward in day-to-day living because of their long stilts, but are completely graceful as they race at speeds in access of 100mph.
- Landstriders are very playful, often leaping and hopping. This makes them easily domesticated, but wild landstriders are very shy to new faces.
