Quick Facts
Appearance...
- Mandragora are normally always burrow, leaving only their fern-like, long leaves stemming well over six feet and producing leaves of one foot in length and six inches in width to be seen soaking in sunlight.
- When pulled, if you are able to concentrate on vision after the terrible wailing the Mandragora produce, they take on the appearance of human-like root bodies.
- Mandragora are not to be disturbed, because they will wail at even the slightest discomfort to them.
Habitat...
- Mostly in the regions of the Fellrise Woodlands of the Ashfall Mountains.
- Some wizards try to make use of these creatures by growing them within gardens of their own towers.
- Mandragora never enjoy staying above the surface, but they are able to migrate voluntarily if there is a threat to their location, such as a forest fire.
Behavior...
- If pulled from their safe nursery, a Mandrake will scream and wail terribly causing deafness, insanity, or even death in some cases.
- The safest way to pull such creatures without harm is to block the ears, draw three circles around the plant with either sword or wand, be sure it is after sundown or in moonlight and that winds are not blustery, and finally that mortal hands do not make direct contact with them.
- Mandragora are also supposedly useful in keeping demonic auras at bay, which is useful for wizards who wish dark forces to retreat from their lofty towers.
