Appearance...
- Rumors and misunderstanding have made the Manticore to be a feline predator, which from its appearance is much like a Lion.
- Fluffed manes and fairly long legs for a rodent, adapted from a predatory lifestyle.
- Thick hairs ranging down its back and covering the top of its tail are actually loosely attached quills that are used in defense or slower killing of larger prey.
- Long sabre-like teeth have developed from buck toothed rodents, thus giving them a wedged tip and lower jaw teeth fused into one single tooth to fit between the sabres.
Habitat...
- Centra, in the Nubian Plains.
- Often stalks below the grass level, using its thick hairs to mimic the foliage surrounding it.
- Very quick sprinting that makes the Manticore incredibly lethal to homonids that stray into the grasslands of Nubia.
Behavior...
- Will often stalk large prey, though a very solitary creature, and leaves the remainder for scavengers or other large predators.
- Manticore's use their poison quills much as a snake would use venom, awaiting the creature to die of intoxication.
- Often lazy, and will only attack when hunger arises. Though if another predator enters its territory they are very easily aggressed into battle.
