Quick Facts
Appearance...
- A large beetle with a distinctly reflective, dark-blue shell. So brilliant are the shells, that they may hold some value.
- Scarabs have strong jaws and claws they use to move rotten meat or balls of dung across the desert sands. Scarabs locked within pyramid dungeons will often be very ravenous out of famine.
- Often classified as undead monsters, for only the simple purpose that powerful mummies will summon swarms as means to attack or distract.
Habitat...
- Centra or Ægypt desert regions.
- The most aggressive and dangerous scarabs exist within tombs of mummified kings.
- Some scarabs will hide themselves within corpses of long dead prey, awaiting an ambush on a curious creature.
Behavior...
- Individual scarabs are no threat, especially with ample amounts of scavengings around. Sometimes they are likened to kings, since their lifestyle consists of rising from the earth and setting into it much like the rise and fall of the sun.
- Swarms of scarabs are a sight to behold, as their collective form will actually appear like a shimmering wave on the sands or foundations.
- While individually they are interested in anything with some nutritional value to them, however as a chaotic swarm they are much more difficult to feed and so will trample and consume anything in their path.
