Description
Taken by the Undead Plague, the Thestrals are horses without souls controlled by the Lich armies. Such infestations like these show how versatile the plague is at adapting to different species, which leads to the possibility that they could one day reinfect the entire world as is accounted in the years of the Ancients. They act much like other horses, only they appear as if they have been dead for weeks or months.
Thestrals have only ever been accounted in Necros, although at one time they were suspected to have crossed into the Centran Desert during the Second Rise of Apochryphai. Although by present day standards, the Thestrals are completely restricted to the upper class creatures of the Undead Plague. They still roam in small herds of the wilds, but rarely numbering any more than five to ten by Svartalfheim survey.
Thestrals are rare, even though their life expectancy is eternal, the amount that reach the full undead barrier is not very high. Some estimate from Dark Elf accounts that Thestrals only number in the hundreds. They themselves are not incredibly threatening except to equins, since their infestation does not effect other creatures.
