Taurs
The Origin of the taurs begins long eons ago with the rise of the megafauna, children of the megafaunadios. Mighty beasts and avians were crafted of soil, just as their gods before them giving rise to a world of creatures given the moniker taur. While these races are strictly from other worlds, the association with Terra in the past has given the Megafaunadio Kujata a lay of her skin in order to house his kin to protect her in times of great need. Kujata, as a welcoming god of peace, was eager to share his large island with the other taur descendants, and it was named Atla or the spine of Kujata. The taurs have since developed their own cultures and based their religions solely on the gods that created them, giving rise to the twin cultures of Atla. Those that follow the two dominant races of taur, the Tauren and the Centaur. Skirmishes have long waged war between their kinds, but no full war has kept these races apart from their origins.
Taur benefits are various, as their races are crafted in the likeness of their many deities.
Taurens
Tauren Name Database
The Largest of Taurs. The Tauren Race is perhaps the most feared mortal race, even by giants of taller stature. Built for close quarter combat, these "Kujata Kin" are the favored children of the Beast Deity Kujata. While bullish in body, their heads have developed a more horse-like shape but with two long horns protruding from either side of their skull, they are rarely confused as Equine. Most are muscular, even the females of the species are quite strong although their horns are less elongated. Social behavior with Taurens is rather aggressive and should be avoided if a conflict arises. They will not argue unless there is free time, because as they are trained in military fashions they would dare not waste a minute in combat to bicker with a rival.
* Commonly light brown hair with black manes.
* Taurens are very ritualistic, and take honor to death.
* Native to the Urdar Plateau of Atla.
- Incredible strength, especially when lifting objects with their aspect of the bull.
- Taurens typically have incredible brute force, allowing them to knock over or through the toughest of obstacles.
- Increased resistance to solid earth damage.
Centaur
Centaur Name Database
The Centaur Race is an unusual society of creatures that are both homonid in appearance and yet part beast. With the torso of a human, and the hind parts of a Horse from waist down, they are odd in that they have six limbs with little effect on their brainpower. Born of the Beast Deity, Cheiron, they have strong ties to the Megafaunadios. While they keep a strong defense of the forests on Atla, they also maintain a rather nomadic tribal civilization as they travel between different camps they have set up. Many who fight Centaurs often find their deadly accuracy disconcerting, and to retreat from a Centaur Ranger is to beg for death. Even the strongest races fear their range and stealth in the forests, then their speed over flat terrain is unparralled by those of two-legged beings. Some have likened thier herding and hunting to that of wolves, even though they are distinctly equine in nature.
* Commonly black shiny hair and darker skintones with black to brunette hair.
* Often use bow and arrow weaponry, under the sign of the sagittarius.
* Native to the Ashwood region of Atla.
- Incredible accuracy and speed, but often suffer from a lack in magical understanding.
- Increased sprinting speeds with their aspect of horse.
- Greater benefits to aiming because of their strict training.
- Most Centaurs have the ability to trample foes under their quadroped lower halves.
Fauns
Faun Name Database
The Faun Race is an unusual society of creatures that are both homonid in appearance and yet part beast. With the torso of a human, and the hind parts of a Deer from waist down, they are odd in that they have six limbs with little effect on their brainpower. Born of the Beast Deity, Cheiron, they have strong ties to the Megafaunadios. While they keep a strong regeneration of the forests on Atla and maintain a magical presence on the island, they also maintain a rather nomadic druid civilization as they travel between different camps they have set up in tandem with the Centaurs. They are rather peaceful, but still dispise the mistreatment of nature as with their Centaur allies. Many of their number encompass the mission churches across the island of the Taurs to spread the word of their beast deities.

- Increased resistance to solid earth damage.
Satyr
Satyr Name Database
The Satyr Race is another niche of beastmen who have taken to the plains of Atla. They tend to be picked on and sometimes enslaved by other races, because of their shorter statures and peaceful ways. While they are goat-like in appearance, they are a strange taur in that they are related to faun but do not share their quadropedal hindparts, instead resorted to only bipedal movement with goat legs. The beast quality does not end with their hindparts, for their heads also adorn the short, but sturdy horns of a goat. It is strange to see the Satyrs, for they often shepherd herds of sheep or goat and it is believed that the Taur Races never think lesser of their beast relatives to actually herd them around, but the Satyrs have begun to alter this belief making them somewhat the rebels among Atla. Although sometimes they of the Atlan Plains are subjected to the ways of war amongst their kin, and thus are employed the Fief-Lords. Much like Samurai or Knights, they defend their fiefdoms from enemies that would come to force Satyrs into their ranks, particularly the Centaurs but only because they are more local than the Taurens who would likely enslave their smaller race as well. While smaller than most races, the Satyr Fief-Lords have adapted from powerful arts of war which have given them somewhat of a balance in combat against their enemies.
* Commonly light skinned and brown to gray of hair.
* Often offended by discrimination of size, for as short as they are, Satyrs are very fierce and tempered.
* Native to the plainlands of Atla.
- Highly energetic and faithful to the deities, but their size does little for their strength.
- Satyrs are famous dancers.
- Under their aspect of goat, Satyrs have not yet found a food or object that has not agreed with their bellies.
Harpies
Harpy Name Database
Harpies are the odd Taur Race of Atla, given that instead of beast-like qualities they are bird-like instead. This has made their race somewhat the outcast on the Island of Taurs, Atla. With the wings, feet, and tails of a bird (particularly bird of paradise) and the heads and bodies of women, they are somewhat the allies of the Amazon Humans and Nymphs of similar region. They are not without allies, but tend to be somewhat removed from them as they live on the opposite side of the island's edge. Harpies follow the orders of their Deity, who conveys her messages to the Harpy Queen, and from her is conveyed the message to the Harpy Ladies, and then so on until the task is completed. They often serve with Amazon Women and Nymphs, but sometimes Harpies are enslaved by powerful foreign wizards or warlocks to do their bidding.
* Commonly light skinned, and typically bright green feathered plumage but never limited to such coloration.
* Often wear little of anything at all, as it would weigh them down during flight.
* Native to Atla, but typically are nomadic throughout the Centra Archipelago.
- Harpies have great faith in their unique deity, Zäugh.
- Able to fly, and with great duration because of their aspect of bird
- All harpies have a "talon" attack for default which acts somewhat like a physical attack.
