Powers
- Shortly: Electricity
- The really long way:
- Transforming: Kereko can transform completely into bioelectrical energy. In practice, it means that the molecules and atoms in eir whole body lose all neutrons and protons and ey will consist of highly biokinetically organized electrons. All the protons and neutrons that are lost fuse with extra electrons in the air, or are left as they are etc., and thus, every time Kereko transforms into electricity, small lightning strikes can be seen where ey transforms and for example hydrogen forms. Kereko can do this in 0,5-1 seconds. When Kereko transforms back into human form, the organized electrons grab neutrons and protons from air, and then the air is filled with extra electrons. Transforming back to human form takes 3-5 seconds, and during that and a few seconds after it, millions of little lightning strikes tend to gather around Kereko.
- Kereko can only change eir own body, so every time ey transforms into electrical energy, eir clothes will be left behind.
- Things inside eir body will be transformed into electricity, but when Kereko materializes, the things that were inside em will not be materialized back (they are left behind where they were, as electrons, where Kereko transformed). This means that for example the food ey has eaten will disappear, or if ey's been shot, the bullet will disappear.
- Kereko can also transform halfway, that is, ey is partly physical and partly electricity. This way eir clothes will stay on.
- In electric form Kereko weighs a lot less than in human form due to losing the neutrons and protons, but ey still has some little weight. Also while transformed halfway, ey will weigh less.
- The thing that keeps Kereko's electric form organized, together and from discharging is biokinetic energy, of which even the future science does not know much.
- Actual powers: In addition to actually transforming into electrical energy, Kereko can control electricity, that is, create different charges in eir surroundings etc., and thus create lighting strikes. Ey can also assume charge from electrical machines and wall sockets and keep the potential within eir body so that it will not discharge without eir wanting to.
- In human form Kereko can lift and move emself a little on the magnetic field, but as more charge that would allow em to actually fly would cause discharging, Kereko cannot do this properly in human form.
When Kereko is for example shot or stabbed, ey can transform into electricity in order to get the bullet out of eir body and heal eir body quicker. Otherwise any weapon has the same effect it would have on anybody else. Electrical weapons distract and harm em more (unless Kereko manages to drain them before they hurt em) than they would if ey was a normal person; they can even make em bleed like eir skin was ripped.
Kereko can fasten or strengthen eir own functions by controlling eirself electrically and thus also has a faster and more accurate observation (works mostly with sight, hearing and reaction times).
Kereko can also sense electricity.
- Halfway transformed: In addition to what ey can do when in human form, ey can also fly (usually under the speed of sound) on the magnetic field of the planet, transform only parts of eir body completely into electricity (or back to human form) and heal eir wounds quicker. When ey is damaged physically in this form (shot or stabbed), ey transforms the part of eir body in which the attack is directed in order to minimize damages. Electric things (like magnets and electrical weapons) don't hurt em as much in this form as they would if ey was completely transformed into electricity, but they will do much worse damage than they would if Kereko was in human form.
In this form, Kereko can not only see normal visible light, but also electricity and the shorter end of the infrared wavelengths as well as the longer end of ultraviolet wavelengths on the electromagnetic spectrum.
- Electric form: In addition to what Kereko can do while halfway transformed, ey is able to travel via metal wires as well as air (depending on the material in which ey is traveling, ey can travel even almost at the speed of light) etc., and reorganize eir electrons (heal) (but only so that they will be how they were before they got disorganized, and thus Kereko can't change eir physical appearance). Also, when someone tries to harm em with a non-metallic object, the object will just slip past the electrons. When for example someone hits em with some organic object that has electric signals going through it (like just an arm), the owner of the arm will experience an electric shock, and Kereko's electrons are slightly disorganized (i.e. it hurts a bit), but the force ejected by the hit will not have an effect.
In this form Kereko can see electricity much more accurately than halfway transformed, and ey can also see the far end wavelengths of infrared and ultraviolet. However, ey can't see the electromagnetic spectrum nearly as clearly as in human form or halfway transformed.
Magnets are as harmful to Kereko's electric form as sharp objects are to normal human body, as magnets can reorganize eir electrons quite drastically. Kereko's electrical form is very similar to the makeup of eir physical body, so the electrical part that forms eir skin is easier to get disorganized (hurt) than the part that makes up the bones. Metals and other objects possessing electric properties in general can also be harmful, as they attract electrons, i.e. if a metal knife is thrown through Kereko's body, all the electrons that the knife touches will become a little disorganized, but the consequences aren't as bad as if it had been eir physical body through which the knife was thrown. If Kereko manages to arrange eir electrons properly before a metallic object hits em, the object can go through em without having an effect, or ey can place eir electrons on the piece of metal, in which case it also would not hurt em.
- Applications (other than lightning strikes): because body functions such as moving etc. are mostly electric signals (and chemical reactions), Kereko can control and see them to some extent.
- Kereko can make people's bodies twitch and cause mental blackouts with simple discharging of electricity. Ey can also electrically see the charges through people's bodies and thus might have a guess at what they are going to do a hundredth of a second later (and Kereko, due to eir speed, can react before it).
By concentrating hard on a single piece of tissue though, ey can do a bit more accurate manipulation, but not much.
- Kereko can, to some extent, block telepathy by creating electrical interference or just simply by making the telepath's powers or body dysfunction. If Kereko is not trying to block anything and concentrates to calm eir mind, telepaths can read eir mind as usual, but naturally eir brain is quite of a mess of charges, so usually it's not so easy. Telepaths can deep-read eir mind, but while ey is awake, the natural electrical mess that is created just by em thinking and obviously eir want to reject anyone from reading eir mind will not let telepaths do much anything, so they would have to calm em down (works best by knocking em unconscious). If there are many telepaths or a strong telepath, they can read eir mind a bit more easily, but it's still quite a stress if Kereko isn't calmed down.
Brief history
Kereko's parents were researchers that experimented a bit too much on their own bodies. The continuous radiation and other stuff that they experimented on sure left their marks and effects on their bodies, and when they had a child, Kereko, it was clear that Kereko wouldn't be a normal child. The first signs of oddity could be seen right when Kereko was born, because eir hair was electric blue at the ends, and eir eyes looked quite frightening with the red eyeballs and electric blue irises. Kereko's parents, as experienced researchers, did not mind this at all, after checking that otherwise the kid seemed to be relatively normal, not counting the fact that it was intersexed.
Kereko's parents studied their child to know more, and first came to the conclusion that it was most likely that all the radiation and other stuff they had worked with had indirectly caused this. The second conclusion was that Kereko's reproductive organs weren't exactly differentiated. The third conclusion, as Kereko was a little older and found out that ey could transform into electricity, was simply that ey had the amazing ability to transform into electricity. Eir parents studied how it all happened (finding out all of the things explained in the power section).
Kereko was practically raised in a scientific research institute, located in Antarctica, causing em to gain much knowledge of and interest in the things around. Thus, Kereko learned a lot about sciences but nothing or very little about other things. Kereko didn't have much plans to leave the place, but the advancement of the research equipment, especially magnetic and electric ones, caused Kereko to eventually feel quite threatened due to being surrounded by machines that could kill em.
Kereko then decided to leave.
