Zomg Rofl is actually IRC language and it's suitable to there as it is a conversation which is going on all the time and if everyone would write "Laughing my eyes out here and dropped to roll on the floor laughing" it would take much time and conversation would brake as the fast writers moves from subject to another very fastly. But I really can't see why it is used in everyday life? If you write a message there is time to write it longly.
