As you continue to walk through the town, you begin to feel a cold feeling around your legs. You soon realize you're walking through the middle of a river, but you're not getting wet. With a confused look on your face you walk over to one of the fishermen in the lake, and ask them about it. It is at that moment that you are told it is a mystical ghost river, placed here by the ancestors of the rulers of the Malazan Throne. You sweep your hand into the water and bring it up to you, looking at it closely. It is a river of spirit particles, instead of water. You are truly beginning to understand this is really a place of magic.
