The regenians from the planet of Regen were the first alien lifeforms that the humans of Earth, terrans, made contact with. This happened over two hundred years ago. As the regenians were a more developed and older species than terrans, they carefully took to cooperating with terrans, resulting in sharing information as well as rebellions, conspiracies and whatnot. However, all conflicts more or less passed eventually, even though new ones kept spawning every day.
After the contact with terrans, regenians encountered several other species, some of which were more developed than terrans, and some that were less developed. While some of the species did want cooperation with the regenians, some did not, and smart as they were, regenians left the ones who wanted to be left in peace alone. It seemed the regenians were the most developed species in the parts of the galaxy they have been exploring.
Eventually it was found out that terrans, in their stupidity, had doomed their own planet to destruction, and a hectic search for a more livable planet began. The homeworld of regenians, Regen, was not very suitable for terran life though few terrans were able to live there. The regenians also were not very eager to share their planet with a species that vastly outnumbered them. The other known planets were either environmentall
y unfit or were already inhabited by creatures who did not want large amounts of terrans to take care of.
After several decades, a suitable planet was found. The planet was enormous, possibly the largest planet on which complex life could ever develop. Being able to do so, the regenians, together with terrans and some other aliens, created strict codes and rules in order to not harm the planet once they would start inhabiting the planet and building buildings.
Once the rules, codes and laws had been established, terrans were allowed to move into their new home, which was named Tekeonia. Many other aliens moved onto it as well, in search for new opportunities and better life.

Species
The main species in the explored part of the galaxy include:
humans, the despairing spontaneous creatures who more or less unknowingly doomed their own homeworld;
ravarans, the suspiciously complex creatures who thrive for equality and strange codes;
regenians, the most intelligent creatures who always let nature do its job;
aiaeoans, the underwater creatures who cannot pronounce consonants;
silencers, the extremely patient but curiously intelligent creatures who have no name for themselves and communicate via telepathic images;
kaopilutans, the variable animalistic creatures who are physically superior and mentally inferior to many other species;
tijinnoans, the creatures who have been able to keep peace, order and understanding between the telepathic and non-telepathic members of their species;
and anthropoids, the technologically constructed and programmed humanoids who seek a social status in the world controlled by biological lifeforms.
Also other species inhabit the several other planets found in the explored part of the galaxy. The main bulk of them don't seem to want anything to do with aliens, but there are nearly always some who wish to explore the unknown.
Halfbreeding among the species is not possible, as the chromosomal differences are too great to successfully combine. However, some constructed hybrids have been created, specifically human-regenian hybrids by the humans and regenian-human hybrids by the regenians. Other hybrids are also possible, except where silencers are involved, because their physiology is far too different.
