I mean, most of the time, yes, it's nonsense--but we do still get important comments here and there, plus, it takes 2 seconds to skim through the comments and determine whether or not they're important, and it's not harming anyone them being here. It's just making it much more open and welcoming.....seriously think about it for a second, would you rather keep going back or watching a Wiki where the people seem friendly and talkative, or one where they don't say anything, and delete all the comments?

I would like to see the parts of elf town that are important and serious, be handled in a more streamlined and professional manner, so that time that is already a bit tight, can be put to its best use, while still allowing those that come here only to play, to do so. :)

Has absolutely nothing to do with how you see yourself, nor I see myself personally, nor does it affect the friendliness. What it does affect in my mind, is the perception and the operation of the page in an efficient and easy to use manner. We already have the forum for comments and discussion about the Herald open to the public, and there is the private forum for the people that work at that level to communicate. Why have comments here? I just do not see the point, nor the purpose. My opinion, thats all.

2004-04-02 [Kaimee]: hmm, i know from my own experience (of being daft;)) that the forums are incredibly confusing at first as their layout is rather different from common online forum layouts... if theres an innocent lil newbie just wondering something about the herald how will they now to find the forum? does it say anywhere on this page where the forum is? will they even know one exists? nope. and if they know it exists whats the likelyhood of them figuring out how the forums work just to ask a passing question?

2004-04-02 [Lerune]: Well, I know that the link to the public forum has been up forever and people are not joining, and I have asked that "hi" and "hello" comments not be left, but it does no good. The fact of the matter is, we are advertised on the index, and people see this is an active page, so they often come here for direction. It is simple enough to direct them from here -- even if it gets a bit tedious at times. We don't want to be stoic, but in the same sense, we don't want to be too unprofessional. Help and comments from those of us who have the time to do so has worked so far, and I see no reason to stop it. ^_^

2004-07-16 [Whim]: Rather than annoying several Elftown officials about this, me and [Avoral] decided to post here. We would like to offer our services to the Herald. I am an established journalist in my town. I work for a humble newspaper called the Press and Banner. I type up articles, create ads, adjust pictures, and even write my own articles. I've done a large number of movie reviews as well.

2004-07-16 [Whim]: [Avoral] is a writer at heart. All of his messages on Elftown are almost material suitable to be dialog in a really elaborate book or publication. If you don't believe me, check out his house, talk to him a bit, or visit his wiki.
