"I
am a normal person" Adrien wasn't going to go with the vampire-theory that easily. "And I can't go back"
Markus rolled his eyes slightly but didn't go against Adrien.
"But to answer your question; my bestfriend's girlfriend knew everything, because she's my roommate"
Saray sank down before the door. It was too cold outside. She tried to figure which of them were vampires and which were humans.
Markus nodded lightly and just sat down.
Adrien was silent for a moment then he shrugged; "You said you lived here? Why?"
Markus nodded. "Just for the time being.."
"But...it's in the middle of nowhere! Isn't that very, very boring?"
Saray just listened to them, thinking. She had no family left now when her dad was killed too, and this Markus seemed ok...even tho he had killed her father.
"It was supposed to be in the middle of nowhere, then why are you guys all doing here then?" He frowned.
"Concerts and camping!" Adrien grinned.
Markus tried not to laugh at him and rolled his eyes. "Alright, and what is your excuse?" He asked the cat.
"Well, I dont have one. I just like being where noone else are. But I suggest somebody go out to look for his friends. I may seem mean, but I'm not. If they still are alive, there's no time to lose."
"If you voulenteer, I'll stop calling you wrinkle-pie?" Adrien put up a begging expression and puppy-dog eyes.
"I'm allready up, arent I" She looked at him. "I was meaning me."
He looked like he could hug her to death in gratefulness. "Really?"
"I'm in too." Markus nodded getting back up.
"But... what if the men is still there? I can't let any more people get hurt because of me" Adrien sighed.
"Really." Quoroth smiled. "Dont think they will catch me or kill me. I have my tricks." She smiled.
"I hope you're right" Adrien sighed and raised hesitantly. "I suppose I should go back too... It wouldn't be right of me to let you go alone"
Saray watched them. "What...?"
"Are you sure?" Quoroth looked at Adrien. "First you must tell me who those men are, and how many they are. What weapons are they using?"
"If I stay behind and any of you got hurt, I'd never forgive myself. I have to go" Adrien looked down. "They were driving a big, black van, so they might've brought lots of weapons. But of what I've seen, they usually just shoot with silverbullets or carry around daggers like yours. Sometimes they have homemade weapons too... specifically things that are hot, burn or explode"
"Why are they after you?" Saray asked suspiciously.
"I don't know. I've never broken a law or done anything wrong my entire life... they're just bullies"
"Vampire.."
"You guys have been watching way too many movies" Adrien rolled his eyes. "I don't see why you're all so obsessed with vampires"
She frowned. "I've seen too many vamps.."
"Well then, easy prey." Quothor grinned abit. "Just kidding. I think we'll be allright."
"What do you mean 'seen many'? Are you on drugs?" Adrien watched Saray.
"Shall we?" Quoroth looked at Adrien.
Saray rolled her eyes.
Quoroth tapped her fingers on the wall. "I'm waiting..."
Markus was already by the door. "What are you all waiting for?"
Adrien just walked slowly towards the door, looking like he was on his way to his own funeral.
"We might just know you. But we will help you." Markus smiled faintly. A real smile for once. It made his face look.. Odd.
"I appreciate it more than you'll ever know. But I'm still not comfortable with putting more people in danger" Adrien said low, almost whispering.
"We will manage." He opened the door, the wind blowing rough.
Adrien stumbled a step backwards. He wasn't very tall, barely 1,70 metres, and a bit skinny, making him a perfect prey for the wind.
Markus grabed his shoulder and helped him. "Come on." He chuckled, he was about two heads taller then he was. He was tall and slim, but the wind didn't blew him away.
"I just need an umbrella and I'll be the new Mary Poppins" Adrien grimaced and tried to keep his balance this time.
He laughed low and helped him to get out, waiting for the others. "Mary Poppins? You'd be a good one then." He grinned.
"You better not be imagining me with a wig and a dress" Adrien frowned.
"I'm not. Just the umbrella." He laughed.
"Good" Adrien started walking, trying to make himself as heavy as he possibly could.
Now... where did I come from?
Markus held a hand on his shoulder so he wouldn't be blown away. "Where too?"
"I'm trying my best to remember the way back... it was right after the sharpest turn on road A57"
"A road?" Markus raised an eyebrow. "That way, and that way;" he pointed at two diffent directions. "Are roads, but I've no clue wich one is the A57.
"I think I might've crossed a small creek"
"Havn't seen a creek.." Markus sighed.
Adrien continued walking slowly seeming to be searching through random bushes.
"What are you looking for?" He blinked.
"My bag, of course" Adrien kept searching. "It got stuck in some branches and I had to leave it... there's a map and a compass there"
Markus nodded and tried to help him find it.
Something small and pink could be seen in a bush.
The others had followed them, most proberly blinking at them searching.
"What's this?" Markus lifted it up the small pink thing.
It wasn't possible to lift it much, because the little plush animal was keychained to something black and big, that was completely stuck in the bush.
"Ack." Markus leaned back down, trying to untangle the big black thing.
It eventually got loose, and on a closer look, it was a bag, about 30X30 cm. There were lots of writings on it, with different handwritings, a couple of band stickers and a light blue, velvet patch showing a very simple picture of a cute, smiling ghost.
"Heej Adrien?! Look at this!" Markus called from where he was, looking in the bag, sniffing around curiously.
There was a light blue phone in it, but it was broken because of the rain and the car crash. There was also a map, a compass, some nailpolish, a toothbrush, eyeliner, a nailefile, a small notebook with a pen, a lighter, some chewing gum, a silver necklace with a gothic looking cross on and a mysterious, black box, which was locked.
"Defiantly from Adrien.." Markus mumbled and got up, walking back to the group.
"What...ooooo! You found it" Adrien halfways stumbled and halfways ran towards the bag, really fighting the wind, like the bag was filled with diamonds or something.
Markus handed it him and tried to stop him from flying away with the wind by holding a hand upon his shoulder again. "You really should gain some weight.." He frowned.
Quoroth had no problem to walk in the wind, yet another little good thing by being catlike. "you have a PINK plush animal?" she laughed. "Cute."
"Of course he's cute" Adrien hugged the bag and quickly went through the content, sighing relived when he noticed the black box was unharmed. "And I'm pretty sure you know that I can't gain weight"
"Doesn't mean that I can't say that you should, even though you can't." He frowned and looked at him. "Got everything?"
"Yes" Adrien sat down on a small rock and started studying the map.
Saray just stayed in the house, or cabin.
Quoroth was standing guard.
"Ah, this way" Adrien suddenly raised again and started walking.
Quoroth followed him, still on watch.
"If that creek's not too big by now, you know, you might be able to find that gun" Adrien smiled.
"Oh?Really? Nice. thanks" She answered and smiled back.
"Why do you have a gun anyway?"
"To blow out brains." She grinned. "No, just for protection...a
gainst things.."
Adrien just narrowed his eyes suspiciosly and continued walking.
Quoroth looked around, and listened.
"Saray? You don't come along with us?" Markus turned and looked at her when he was about to follow the rest.
"I'll just wait here.." the girl said.
"You sure?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Yes..."
"Alright.. Well.. Close the door tightly and let nobody in.." Markus warned her worried.
"I will." She looked away.
Markus watched her for a small moment and sighed soft, then walked after the others.
Adrien kept walking silently, tryng to keep his balance, all the way till they reached the small creek. Then he stopped and wondered how to get over. Because of the storm, it was bigger now.
Markus was at the end of the group. "How are you planning to get us over this?" He frowned.
"Well...Either we swim or we tip over a tree" Adrien mumbled after thinking for a while.
Markus frowned and looked around for a tree big enough.
"You don't like to swim?" Adrien chuckeled. "We can always look for a place where it's slimmer"
"Hey, err.. Can we use the tree-plan?" Quoroth looked at Adrien.
"Well, if we find a big enough tree"
"I could try and throw you guys over. I'm not affraid to get a bit wet. I can't get any colder then this anyway." He chuckled slightly, watching them.
"I'll.. try to find a place where I can jump over." Quoroth said.
"Nobody is throwing me anywhere" Adrien pouted. "And I'm already wet"
Quoroth started walking, to see if there were any place to jump over.
Not really bothering to wait, Adrien just simply jumped into the water and disappeared in the waves.
