Into the Dark
Too long now I have been in the dark
So deep in the shadows I can barely see the light.
Memories dimming of a world I once knew
Soon to fade into oblivion forever.
Beings watch me but elude my glance
Never to acknowledge their presence.
As I walk this path lost, betrayed,
Forever alone and exiled
My cries silent on the dying breeze
No matter how fast or far I run
I will never reach the light.
Cast out by my own kind
Those I thought I could trust.
I ask not for forgiveness,
Or even for company
I ask that you leave me be
To take comfort in this path I walk.
It is not one of misery, not for me
I treasure every moment, every step I am alone.
