I just got off the phone with a well known sports journalist from Argentina. Pretty nice guy, he said that he wanted to give us a hand with our latest but "get rich fast" scheme.

I need to recap. Over a year ago the upma people started collaborating with an ongoing project named Bola Sin Manija (a blog that combines sports with humor, with very popular and very alternative sports. If you want to check it: www.bolasinmanija.com.ar) by people we didn't know a lot. The chemistry was perfect. Last year we started a radio show (originally we did UPMA and then Bola Sin manija. After Andres' demise last year we stopped UPMA) and it has been growing really well. To mention a few things that happend more by chance than design but that were impressive: we were able to send one of the guys to India to report on the Kabbadi World Cup (paid by the federation, not by us. To use, the whole 20 days trip cost 140 dollars); we interviewed Sergio Maravilla Martínes, one of the most important boxers nowadays; we had a guy in a Barcelona match in Spain (he was on vacation there) and there was a BSM award on the Pato (Argentina's national sport) finals last november (and it was pretty official, even though we don't know a lot about the sport).

So, the newest project is to self publish a book that tells the story of small football teams from all over the world that had a second of glory. Or something curious about them. Or something. 50 stories in total. And we got the phone number of this journalist, called him and he said that he likes the idea and will be happy to write a few words for the book, as introduction. So, it's taking shape! With some luck, on March we should have the book in our hands.

It could be a good idea for you people to add me to gtalk. While at work, I'm always online there, so it's the only place where I can actually be easily reached in my online life. So, add me: promocion@granicaeditor.com

From the mouth of the beast himself! (well, or from the mouth of the bass player).

I just got confirmation from Jay Bentley himself via twitter (pretty nice of him to answer my tweet, I have to say) that Bad Religion will be playing in Argentina again this year!

"this commemorative volume is a true celebration of a modern masterpiece by the one, the only, Neal Gaiman"

Taken from the Amazon website. He's so one and only that they misspelled his name :P

And Gaiman's tweeter reaction:

"Amazon describes me as 'the one, the only...' then they spell my name wrong. I don't know why that makes me so happy."

Oh, yes, something else I almost forget: real life letters. I haven't received any in a while and haven't sent any either. While moving I found something that I'd been saving to send some of yous: tickets from the first ever Antes Bien gig. So, I think it's time to correct this. Who wants some and promise to send letters in return? Money is a little tight right now (I'm paying twice as much in rent, Internet and services than I was just a month ago), but I can send a couple letters a month, I'm pretty sure. So, who's in?

And what happened with those cards around the world?

I'm alive! :D

I'm pretty much moved now. Most of the new furniture I bought arrived. I still have to unpack lots of books and buy more bookcases. The kitchen water system needs some repair (which should be started tomorrow and hopefully ended a couple days into next week) and so does the main room's floor (which should be done... next week? The week after it? Not a lot more than that). All that paid by the owner, of course :P

It's a pretty big place for just me, so I'm pretty comfortable. And yous all have a place to crash if wanted.

Anyway, I have Internet and cable at home right now, but I'll have to change ISP at some point in the next couple weeks, so I'll surely be internetless again for a while. After that, I'll hopefully be back.

Anyway, c'ya in the pit!

PD: Today, Jane's Addiction for free! Woot! (Hopefully, too :P I still don't have the tickets, but should have them in a couple hours).

Favorite sport: Really, honestly, do you need to ask? It's like you don't even know me.

Favorite argument: The Terminator!

Favorite paradox/oxymoron: Military intelligence, of course.

Section 3: Serious Issues

What are your views on...

1. Liberalism?
Uh, got this one wrong. I was thinking about economics.
I'm pretty much in favor of being a liberal. They are like cute bunnies of goodness.

2. The existence of God?
Has anybody asked him what he thinks about MY existence? I mean, just to change the subject a little. But, in general lines, no, I don't believe. At least not in the religious shape it has taken.

3. Jesus Christ?
Yes, I think he existed, at least in some form, even if it was only as an urban legend back in those days. Enough to form a myth and probably a revolutionary movement.

4. Abortion?
I have encountered views with myself on this topic.

5. Global warming?
I'm against it on principles. Check the part where I said that I liked autumn.

6. Humanity?
Sure. I believe in it. Despite everything and every proof against it, I still have hope. Call me Lennon or whatever, but it's that or getting a flamethrower and finishing with its pain.

7. Vegetarianism?
I'm not against it, as long as it's not forced on me.

8. Animal abuse?
It's wrong. Got it? Wrong?

9. Capital punishment?
It's wrong. Not because it is wrong to kill (which... y'know, it is) nor because it's closer to vengeance than to justice (which could be argued that has nothing wrong) but because as a system it is too fragile: the first time you make a mistake it all comes down. And believe me, you will make a mistake.

10. Evolution?
Hard to argue against it, isn't it? We can argue how well it works, but that's another thing :P

11. Extraterrestrial beings?
Sure. I may be egotistical, but not as much as to believe that I'm the only being alive.

12. Heaven?
It's in the little things

13. Hell?
It's in some other little things. Sometimes they are interchangeable.

14. Purgatory?
That's something to eat to go to the bathroom, right?

15. Ghosts?
No

16. Serial Killers?
Err... I'm pretty sure they exist. I mean, there are like several thousand documented cases. Not to mention several thousand victims. So... I'd say that yes, they exist.

17. Marriage?
Errr... Never heard of it.

18. Smoking?
Everybody should be allowed to choose how to kill themselves. I'd appreciate if they didn't kill me in the process, though.

19. Drinking?
Occasionally.

20. Child abuse?
I'm against it. Did you see the part where I was against animal abuse? Well, I think children are almost as worth of respect as animals.

Last diary update for today:

Three saturdays ago Antes Bien entered the studio once again. Since over eight months have passed since we recorded our EP, we are no longer editing it as an album but going for the full release, adding a few songs to the 7 one it. Three of them will be our usual full of distortion songs. Also, there will be one or two hidden, acoustic tracks.
'sides those, we also recorded 3 more songs. One of them may end up in the album, while the other two (one of which lasts amazing 25 seconds) will remain for personal/Internet use.

Also, we had two special guests for the new songs: my friend Ariel (guitar) in one of the acoustic ones and Marky Ramone yelling "1,2,3,4!" before "The Ticking of the Hourglass" starts*.

If everything goes according to the (new) plans, the album should be ready for October.

This was taken from the Loco Live album, of course. It's not like we know the guy
