Gah, gah, gah, gah! *jumps around all excited... in a mature way, 'cause he's all mature and responsible now*
Finally, finally, finally *maybe it isn't so much in a mature way as in a japanese fangirl way... that deserves some investigation*
Finally! After 6 or 7 years! I have some original Mr T Experience albums in my hands :D :D :D :D 3 of them, to be more precise ("Revenge is sweet... and so are you", "Yesterday rules" and "The miracle of shame"). It seemed almost impossible, but now I've found a small records shop that can import them for me (pretty expensive but it's MTX! One of my long life desires come true!).
So :D :D :D :D :D
PS: Oh, I may even do something silly like putting the name of my favorite songs in my mood or something like that. YEah, I think I'll do exactly that.
It's getting harder and harder to keep up with this :P Maybe I should quit things in ET. But what? Forums? Jobs (which I haven't done in a while, anyway, since I'm never here)? What? Or maybe just wait a little and I'll get used to my new eorking and living hours and find time for everything? Gotta think about it for a while.
In any case, I miss you people.
So... it... happened. It's been confirmed. There's no turning back. We are all doomed. It was bound to happen, eventually, but not everybody was sure it was going to be in this lifetime. Not that it couldn't be expected but...
I have a job. A new one, I mean :D I'm starting the day after tomorrow (gah, bad, bad movie), Monday. The job is press and promotion assistant at a publioshing house. A little triumph for me, since when I lost my other job I decided that I wasn't going to do anything, but work on a place I wanted to, a publishing house or a book store or a production company. It's done, then.
For the first time in my life, I'll actually be doing 9 to 5. Yes. I still can't believe it :P It seems I'll be chained to the mirror and the razorblade after all.
May it be time to grow up? Do I turn into a serious bussiness man? It's an interesting desicion to make.
Italy? Italy? ITALY? It could have been so many teams but... Italy? The team that best represents the ultra-defensiv
Insanity in individuals is rare but in groups, parties, nations and epochs it is the rule.
Nietzsche
He really was a little piece of sunshine, wasn't he?
Oh, I haven't mentioned this before, but I probably should, since it's important (in my life, not in the universe's big scheme). In any case, I was too busy talking about turtles and Nietzche.
UPMA finally has its own radio programm!! :D It started 3 weeks ago, it's two hours long, goes once a week and it's full of things from the fanzine, music, radioplays, nonsense talking and mistakes. It's everything an UPMA fan (or the UPMAs themselves, for that matter) may wish for. It's a lot of fun to do and one of those whings I've been wishng for years. No more having small sections in other persons' programms. It's all ours now!
That said, the bad part is that is can only be listened through internet, for the moment (maybe in 6/8 months that will change) and that, of course, we don¿t make money out of it. But it's pure pleasure! We, the 5 UPMAs, do everything: write the scripts, improvise the non-scripted parts, host, edit, produce and everything. The only thing we don't do, for the moment, is operating (except for some parts) but it'll happen soon.
Sadly the programm is in spanish, so to most of you it'll be just gibberish. If you still want to listen to it for a couple minutes, at least to hear my voice, you can do so every Wednesday from 1 to 3 am (ET time, of course and if my maths don't fail). The address is www.rnma.org.a
[Patri] and [Moonknight], you have the moral obligation to at least listen to it for a couple minutes.
Following the previous note, it's exactly the kind of thing I'd do if I was a respected philosopher (or a not respected one):
"Serious" philosopher -Thinking about it logically, the arrow can never hit the turtle, because when it has reached the place where the turtle was, it has already moved. Therefore, the arrow will never reach it.
Me - Yeah, right. I'll do the arrow shooting and you'll do the running and we'll see how logical it gets.
Fragment from "Creación Colectiva" ("Collaborative Creation") from the book "La maquina creativa" ("The creative machine") by David Casacuberta. Translated by yours truly.
Have you ever heard about the cynics? They were some peculiar greek philosophers -punks avant la lettre- who laughed at the pretensions of their colleagues of more "serious" schools. One of those "serious" philosophers was Zenon de Elea and his followers, who had a serie of very elaborated mathematical arguments to prove that movement was impossible. The cynics had the amusing habit of running around Zenon and his disciples to prove in a practical way that movement existed
Ahh, philosophers after my own heart xD
"Battle not with monsters
lest ye become a monster
and if you gaze into the abyss
the abyss gazes into you."
-Neitzche
I finally found the english version of this quote (I only had the spanish version)
So, lately I've been Travis obsessed. Last week I bought the dvd ("More than us". I highly reccomend it) and it has a couple great moments:
1) they are playing "Writing to reach you". The song has a verse, at the beginning, that is more or less like this:
Every day I wake up and it's Sunday
Whatever's in my head won't go away
The radio is playing all the usual
And what's a wonderwall anyway
So, in the exact moment that Fran Healy is singing the wonderwall part, they show that Noel Gallagher is behind the stage listening xD
And I'd like to know what's a wonderwall :P
2) Doug enters the place where they are hanging totally freaked out because he has just seen Green Day's performance in the same festival and he's scared of rock fans. Hilarious.
Also, I learned that there's a first album called "Good Feeling" that I didn't know existed and that I can't find anywhere. If somebody has it or can get it and send me the mp3 files, I'll be more than grateful. It contains an amazing song called "U16 girls" that I want to play in the radio.
After yesterday's match against MExico, I don't think my heart health is the best out there :P
My throat feels like sandpaper right now. I'm thinking about breathing on the furniture to see if that removes the paint.
Doing a little self-analysis, I find pretty strange the fact that I use expressions like "God hear you" or "Only God knows" a lot (or, at least, that I think about using them pretty soon) even though that my lack of belief is bulletproof. Curious and more curious.

Nihilism: It's the denial of all belief, of every religious, political or social principle. It can be said that nihilism is also the denial of all those values that are considered as neccesary and evident, a philosophical positions that denies the possibility to know the reality. Nietzsche defines nihilism as the "lack of values of the values" and considers it a reaction against the attitude that substitutes the vital primary instincts (those that are natural to us, the only really valid, product of our own condition as animals) with the false moral and religious principles product of Christianism and those of the traditional philosophy.
Nihilism was taken as an important point of reference in what can be usually called punk, hardcore and grunge culture, with the biggest exponent in the "No Future" claimed by first punk bands in London, circa 1977. Grunge, in the middle 90s, retakes it, which can be clearly seen in bands like Pearl Jam.
Existencialism
But that's not everything. The being is unique, experiences the isolation from the rest, since the experience is individual, not groupal. The universe is hostile or indifferent to the being. Nothing of what makes him be can be explained, because the existence can't be explained. That leaves the being without anything to believe in. Also, it stresses freedom of choice and responsibility for the consequences of one's acts.
And then it keeps getting more and more complicated. But I think that's enough.
Sources: An encyclopedia and my head. The punk references, of course, weren't in the encyclopedia. Neither was the fact that I think that Kierkegaard has the best name out there.
I find those questions about goth that I've seen in a couple houses interesting. I may answer them later.
I uploaded a new song to MusMakers. I would really apprecciate some comments.
We recorded it last Monday. It should be played by 2 guitars, bass and drumms, but the recording only includes one guitar and voice.
Vocals: Ariel
Guitar: Patricio
Lyrics and guitars written by Ariel.
