It's quoting time!
And this time it's the always lovely [Mirime] who's quoted, with this absolute classic:
(This was about a game of Mao she was playing)
I kept getting penalty cards for inappropriate stroking of the carpet
xD
Amazing
There's a story behind, but it's for me to tell. Ask her if interested.
Well, it's official: after two semesters where I only took one or two exams, I signed up for two courses next semester. So, if they assign me the hours I asked, I'm going back to university.
Also, I'm getting ready for a long night in front of the computer, since I promised to write a couple articles for the Herald. In a way, it's kinda like been back at uni, preparing an exam :P
There's no coffee, though. Nor coke. Damn.
Exactly one year ago I started in my current job at Ediciones Granica (www.granica.co
So dark
We are like animals in the Ark
Being taken where we don't belong
By powers that are way beyond our control
I walk straight
Freedom in my mind, to maintain the pace
Trying to stand up for what's right and fair
Even if all the time I make mistakes
By Myself. It's a song, of course. The melody is a lot like Keane's "Is it any wonder?" though O_O I should try to change that.
Wow! It's fucking snowing in Buenos Aires :D That hadn't happen in over 90 years or so! Great day! :D
Since I'm always trying to find new things to listen to and hoping to expand my musical horizons, please check this:
Bands PUNK should check out.
Just add anything you want there. If I already know it, I'll just make a comment about it.
Thanks.
Some of you probably already saw this in the Junk forum. Some other saw it in Voice Clips. But a couple probably didn't see/hear this:
<URL:stuff/
As iippo pointed out, I pronounced "jar" every time as "har". I "spanished" it :P
I wanted to write something on my diary today, but I have nothing. Damn!
Not sure if I already post this here, but... Part of an old song (like 2 years old) I wrote while trying to write a letter. You can see that from the name.
A Letter
Hello, my friend, what can I say?
You know that feelings are impossible to explain
You'll take my hand, we'll walk in the dark
I'm staring at the ceiling with a pen in my hand once again
I'll take my time, I won't hurry up
And I'll pick my words more carefully this time
You know they'll be oh, so clumsy and lame!
But at least they'll mean what I want to say
Lots of love, my friend
And you know that's it's true because I wouldn't lie to you
And then he died and went to Pill Heaven...

Ok, the topic of natural food never being blue has obsessed me for a while. Here, some answers:

Oh, and I've grown tired (not to mention that I feel guilty) of promising to answer messages and be here more and not being able to do it. Life has decided to keep me really busy with work and such. Really busy. Right now, I'm working 12/13 hours a day, during the mornings at Granica (the publishing house) and during the afternoons at the Books Fair (in the stand that Granica has there). That should end on Monday, but I won't promise more presence here. I'm tired of lying to you and to myself.
Ok, with some delays (as usual) tomorrow UPMA 16 will be out, so next week I'll start working in the sendings. This is your second (maybe last, who knows?) to ask for a copy, if you haven't. Those who already did (around 6 persons, if I'm not wrong) will get it... eventually ;) I'll need your addresses, though.
To be honest, I thought more people were going to want it. Even more, there's some people I thought were going to ask for it that didn't. Here's another chance, if you are one of those (This bothers me because I used to be better at predicting people's actions).
Next week a new issue of my fanzine, UPMA, will be published. I'm giving all my friends here a chance to get a copy of it. Essentially, if you want it, just lemme know and I'll send it to you, totally free. I'll take care of the shipping, unlike, let's say, Amazon. And I ship anywhere in the world. I'm a lot lazier and slower than Amazon, though, since I like to include some personal comments in the package.
The fanzine is totally in spanish, of course, and most of you won't be able to understand a word, but it's still a curiosity, I guess. And it includes a dog drawn by me.
NOTE FOR MIRIME: This is the latest reason why your package was delayed. But next week it will leave, I swear. And it will include several things.
[Mirime] and [Teufelsweib] already ordered their copies. You can be like them! Order UPMA soon.
Answering messages soon. Yes, I promise. I never lied to you before, did I? Well, that time doesn't count. Why? Because I say so... No, taht one doesn't, either. Nor that other one.
So, I'll try to answer all those old messages from you all wonderful people soon.
PS: Just keep in mind that soon is a relative term, not a specific ammount of time.
I liked the Record Of Lodoss War quiz, so...
What Record of Lodoss War Character Are You?
http://quizill
You're Parn! You're clumsy, you're not much of a swordsman, you're dense, you're unobservant, you obssess about King Kashue *way* too much, you're self-centered, and you're the series' protagonist. Oh, and there's this one elf girl who saves your ass all the time, and yet you wind up sleeping with the slutty redhead mercenary. How did THAT happen?!
Lodoss is one of the few animes I've actually watched. And one of the few mangas I've read too.
I also saw an interesting name thing in [ally]'s house, but that will be left fot later.
It's alright
Just follow the light
Don't be afraid of the dark
In the moonlight
You'll dance till you fall
And always be here in my heart

From the force to the union shops
The war economy is making new jobs
But the people who benefit most
Are breaking bread with their benevolent hosts
Let them eat war [X2]
That's how to ration the poor

"Let Them Eat War" by Bad Religion
Bad Religion will be playing in Buenos Aires next month. I got my ticket the very next day after it was confirmed. I couldn't see them the last time the came (in 2001) and, of course, it's one of the bands I have to see before I die. A list that is getting smaller and smaller, luckily (Foo Fighters and Green Day are on top, now that Bad Religion will be removed). So, as you can imagine, I'm pretty excited about it and can't wait for the show.
All my scientists are working on a deadline
So my psychologist is working day and night time
Come out to play
Come out to play
And we'll pretend it's Christmas Day
In my atomic garden
"Atomic Garden" by Bad Religion
The first one is, obviously, a song about war economies (or economies in war times, if you prefer) and the way the "feed" people with death. The second one is about the danger of atomic war. It mentions Gorbachev at some point and makes clear references to the president of the USA.
Very few bands are capable of handling this kind of issues with the clarity that BD does. The music may be repetitive sometimes, but you have to listen to what they are saying. Some of the songs are essays on political and social relations.
You are the government
You are jurisprudence
You are the volition
You are juridiction
And I make a difference too
"You are the government" by Bad Religion
Another song. Now, comment. And yes, you suck and you've made my ears bleed count as a comment and it's welcomed (honestly. I don't mind.). Thanks.
