So. Yesterday, as most of you in Ottawa know... Well... those of you in Barrhaven... The whole thing with those people downtown kinda overshadowed this, though apparently the Sun's headpage had something about a student on rampage, or teen on rampage... I don't know, the Sun newspaper box was all sold out when I got to it, but the the Metro and the dose didn't and the Citizen ... well I didn't have a dollar to buy it and check, but the front page didn't have anything... Anyways yes, A kid from our school (not three like the rumors say) went and smashed the window of three classrooms and tried to light something in the washroom (it didn't work) the only fire was that of a candle, there was no racist graffiti as the rumors say. The people that saw him saw that his mask was pointed white etc, like that of the KKK. After when he was asked about that, he did not know where that whole thing fit in, why in particular he wore such a thing that would associate him to that organisation. The person is a great guy. He is normally pretty quiet and really nice. Something that was probably unconscious just snapped, I don't know by what, maybe he doesn't, that is the impression that was given to me by the Vice-Principal when she came and talked to us today. Afterwards when he was stopped (not by a student but by a teacher; one student told me he tackled him... stupid lyer...) he was really cooperative with everyone, the police, the teachers, he wasn't even sure WHY he did it. Yes he was aware of what he did but after he said that yah he knew it was a bad thing, it was a psychologic thing, something like repression something had been building up, then he snapped. He is getting help, he went to CHEO. Yah, he has been indefinitaly suspended but there is still a chance that he could come back. Which I hope, to show the student body that yah, he regrets it. And man, we all support him, though not his actions, as one of our teachers said. Yah, he is in the schools christian group, of which I too am a member. So yah it's really creapy... He had been coming last year and yah, he involved himself and stuff when he came, which was pretty much every meating, seriously, I don't remember him ever not being there. Other than todays meetian during which one of the VP's came answere questions told us what she could legally say (there's a police investigation going on).... Most of us had already been really shocked, not knowing for sure if the rumors that said it was him were true... but yah. they were. I dunno the whole environment there was just shaky. Numb I guess. That and later when I got home I found out that my friends dad, who already had a whole bunch of cancers and had been recently diagnosed with a brain tumor, only had a few weeks to go... I dunno. That and all the huge summative projects, the big important worth 10, 15 sometime 20% of your mark are now happening. And I am a professional procrastinator. Things have been just crazy. I hate to admit emotional weakness, but yah. all this has shaken me. I,m really going to make an effort to change my violent vocabulary. This all has made me want to be more serious about stuff. I'll survive. But man. This is just crazy. Stuff like this isn't supposed to happen here so much! With the whole kidnapping and killing of Jennifer Teague from my neighborhood this fall... It's crazy... I guss I'm just a small town kid. First I'v lived in a city. Well I lived in a town 45 min. to an hour out side when I was 0 (ie. when I was born) till I was three, but that's it. yah. I'll stop now. Just yah. If ye be Christian, please pray for the kid his family our group, my friends dad and their family... yah... just yah.. I should stop now. Go eat pie.
