there's definitely a distinct difference between the voice in my head and the one my mouth uses. I'm starting to think maybe we don't get along.

A thousand sane men, and only one that can see.

She's gone. She's gone. She's gone.

Sometimes thought is bad.

Lisa tried to show me, But I looked the other way. Mother asked to see her, But I made it all seem grey. Me I'm only as lucky as they want me. But I know it's not the end. You're just like me. You have bats and halos in your mind. When you drink that texas medicine. I wish you thought out loud. I wish I made you proud. But someone else told me they saw you. In the wigwam down the road.

Oh now you've gone and done it.

Oh now you've gone and done it.

In the wigwam down the road.

I tried to call and beg. But you shot me in the leg. I suffered a million pains. To let you win the game. Now writing this doesn't work. I'm all out of words. The lady of the swamp. She'll have me more now thankyou. But someone else told me they saw you. In the wigwam down the road.

Oh now you've gone and done it.

Oh now you've gone and done it.

In the wigwam down the road.

And time will tell who has failed and who's been left behind...

When you go your way and I go mine.

The least you can do is pretend to care. Made apparant through the seconds in your vacant stare. I have no place to go. I listen to your beat and go with the flow. It's all made easy when you never know. It's a piece of cake untill I threaten to show.

Threats are like wasps they don't dare sting. I'll pretend to notice while contemplating this horrible thing I bring on my left wing and cling to these words I sing:

''Master, do you hear its throbbing and thrumming?

lauded by heralds...

Progress is coming!

Nowhere that ears can endue its commotion and still the engine expects our very devotion.

Mark this machinery spinning its vengence, how it deforms and how it lessens us!

Drawn from our own, its power owes but one favor

Humbly to serve and impartially labour.''

This is my song that I sing to you.
He meant it to be true when I paint with blue.

''People that think they're jesus are insane. But not all insane people think they're jesus.''

This has to be the stupidest thing someone has said to me in recent memory.

You're so vain. You probably think this song is about you.

Yeah but...

Potential is where it could be.

Hypafetical could be spelt like that.

Pedants could be missing the point.

Writers could be something else.

Quaint repercussions of a misinformed childhood.

Hello,

I'm Alex, or rather, that is what the person who wrote this insists on being called.

I would like to tell you Alex is a genius, in the most profound sense of the word, though his main concern is that you wont believe him. Such is the dillemma, that he has spent a good part of his life thinking of ways to convey it to people without directly imposing it on them, in other words, being 'arrogant'. Because, as he has learned, this is just disregarded as pretenciousness. Though the problem he has with modesty as a means of gaining intellectual respect, is that it just doesn't work, for two main reasons, firstly, affiliation, ''you wont get that I'm a genius because you're too busy convincing yourself you understand me'', secondly, because everyone else is trying to prove the same thing. Thus he has realised that affiliation and the need to prove ones self better than the other go hand in hand and has since come to the conclusion that arrogance is the only form of intelligence, thus he is normal.

Alex insists he can cope.

"If you work it out, tell me what you find"

I would like to explain or atleast portray in this piece of writing that he is different, I mean, as far as my understanding goes, it's human nature to feel a sense of individuality, they call it a conscience or something, dont they? But this is merely a trick, a paradox of sorts, see, Alex thinks he is different, you all think yourselves different, but none of us really understand what different entails, so instead we look to others in order to get a sense of emphisis if you will, so the paradox begines, perhaps the fact that you think you are different is enough to warrant not acting differently? Really I just wish we would all accept that we are normal and deal with it, for normality is the most different aspect of an individual. And the most respected.

''I think therefore I am.''

He would like to portray himself as an affable character, though I really am trying to cut down on lying so much, what is it to be likable anyway? What does his dignity, no, what do I gain from such being? To my understanding, a likable person is one in which their 'qualities' are directly relative to what you, the other person, percieve to be 'cool'.

Whatever happened to rationalism?

I'm not likable unless I (..am?) like you?

Hmm...

''Cool is the pursuit for youth, youth being the pursuit of recklessness''

He would love to tell you he is a poet or some kind of writer, he loves writing, he truely does, the truth is he just doesn't have that 'writers mentality' required to be anything more than a blabbering fool, an intelligent blabbering fool, but a blabbering fool none the less. His on-going-theme is writing about writing, writing about his own writing, writing about what he is writing the writing about. I don't really have a word to call it, but that's what he does. The use of metaphore is simply devine.

It all ends up looking like poetry anyway.

Or so they say.

I love to speak.
I love to be heard.
I love to listen.
I love to distract myself. Or I distract to love myself. (?)

Anyway...

''Why pamper life's complexities,
when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?''

That pretty much sums up everything I think about you all.

Hmm...

If you dont have a smile on your face, you must not have a lower jaw.

Thank you.

Read Something Else.

This one is nonsense, not meant to make sense, a matter of irrelevance, so dont pay by the pence, just read the begining, since the end is of no more importance. Isn't it stupid? To write about nothingness, and pretend no less that this is poetry's finest, probably my best. Did I explain the end is pointless? You'd be better off reading the title again it might explain that you can avoid the pain of disdain if you ignore this and remain dignified in your intelligence because this is nothing more than a false pretence, a matter of no great consequence. Do you feel cheated? maybe slightly heated? The prospect of losing time for not a dime, merely a rhyme, now try to find the humor in all this, I was always taking the piss, did you miss the point, mis-joint the meanings and think serious things will spill from this inferior thing I sing? You clearly was not listening, now go back to the begining and learn something, I'm not pretending, this is the ending.

Alex Thornton.

I've given all I can and you still want more.

You missed the part when my tear hit the floor.

Still the emphisis is on I.

I'll never think you've beat me.
