"Here we are." He leaned over and kissed me on the cheek and led me to the shed like building.
Dominic pushed the stone door open and walked inside liek he was entering his own house. He had not told me what he was going to show me, but he said that it was going to be good. Curiosity was the only thing that kept me along with him. He grinned as he pulled me into the stenchful room, which looked extrodinarely big for such a small building. He flipped on the light and revealed a long hallway, torches lit up as he walked past them. I looked around in amazement, wondering about how he could find such a place. Dominic grabbed my hand and brushed his head to the side, getting his black shaggy hair out of his dark eyes. He bowed a little bit and said,
"Shall we, ma' lady?" and grinned up at me.
My face turned red as I said "Yes, sir. Anything you say." and winked at him.
He grabbed my hand in his, squeezing tightly and pushed me forward. I stepped lightly onto the brush and a tree twig snapped under my weight. i clenched tighter onto his hand and stepped into the darkness. Dominic came up behind me close, placing his hands on my hips and lead me into the darkness. i kept reassuring myself that eventually he would come around and realize that I was in love with him. I told him "I love you." all the time, I was just not sure how he hadn't figured it out yet. Dominic pushed me to go faster through the forest, but I kept tripping upon things as I went. A picker bush hit me in the shin and I fell backwards into Dominic's arms.
"Kori, are you okay?" He said, I could see his black eyes shimmering in the dark.
"Yeah." I sighed and brushed the hair out of my face. He helped me back up and slid in front of me, holding both of my hands and pulling me through the dark forest. We then came upon what looked like a tool shed. He stopped and I seen a huge grin wipe across his face as he looked over his shoulder at me.
Not many people can say that they have seen the future of man kind. Not even I. If man believed everything he only saw, life would not be as mysterious. People would not love, hate, and have as much peace if it weren't the curiousity that drove us to such things. Life is a mystery that everyone should fear.
The soft cry of crows in the distance of the forest made it even harder to concentrate on our task. Our eyes wandering, we took a step foreward into the unknown. Not knowing what was to be next, I layed one foot upon the brush of the forest floor. I gripped tight to my best friend's hand. He looked down at me and grinned,
"Are you ready?" He said daring me to enter the darkness first.
I swallowed painfully and shut my eyes. I did not want him to see the tears welling up behind my eye with fear.I did not really care what he thought of me, i just didn't want him to poke fun at me. I gripped tighter and took another step. I swallowed hard again and looked up into his black, black eyes. I nodded confidently,
"Yes, I am ready."
