Excerpt from my work-in-progress novel Waterborne:

“It’s not too late,” Aesha whispered, tears dripping from her cheeks as turned but Erikson grabbed her arm, swinging her around and against his chest. For a warrior, he was incredibly gentle with her as he shook her until the tears stopped and when he opened his mouth to speak, he froze, “I…” -however… that was as far as he managed, for Aesha had leaned up on her tip toes, tenderly touching her lips to his. In open shock he didn’t respond, his eyes locked open and she returned his gaze, loosing themselves in each others eyes. He pulled away (only an inch) to speak but found himself unable, the force of her soul piercing into his very being and Erikson knew, without a doubt, that he loved her, “It’s never too late.”

^-^ This is one of the cutest parts I have typed out... and its one of my favorites as well... working on my novel helps me deal with stress that makes me physically sick >.> and I normally keep my progress secret but I felt like sharing this small bit of the scene.

Yes I know I totally stole that line from the three days grace song, but it fits better than anything else I tried, and the song means a great deal to me... so =P.

I wish someone loved me this much... but wishing can't change a man's heart.

Prophecy of the Destroyer

A day will came when born will be
Two babes whose blood will tie them.
That born to Wings and the Horn will hate
The one they call StarMan.
Destroyer! Rise in the north
And drives his Ghostmen south;
Defenseless lie both flesh and field
Before Gorgreal’s ice.
To meet this threat you must release
The StarMan from his lies,
Revive Tencendor, fast and sure
Forget the ancient war,
For if Plough, Wing and Horn can’t find
The bridge to understanding,
Then will Gorgreal earn his name
And bring Destruction hither.

StarMan, listen, head me well,
Your power will destroy you
If you should wield it in the fray
‘Ere these prophecies are met:
The Sentinels will walk aboard
‘Till power corrupt their hearts;
A child will turn her head and cry
Revealing ancient art;
A wife will hold in joy at night
The slayer of her husband;
Age-old souls, long in cribs,
Will sing o’er mortal land;
The remade dead, fat with child
Will birth abomination;
A darker power will prove to be
The father of salvation.
Then waters will release bright eyes
To form the Rainbow Scepter.

StarMan, listen, for I know
That you can wield the scepter
To bring Gorgreal to his knees
And break the ice asunder.
But even with the power in hand
Your pathway is not sure:
A Traitor from within your camp
Will seek and plot to harm you;
Let not your Lover’s pain distract
For this will mean your death;
Destroyer’s might lies in hate
Yet you must never follow;
Forgiveness is the thing to assured
To save Tencendor’s soul.
