So, went in for testing around 1pm on Wednesday - dropped my Dad off to wander around Georgetown while I was at hospital. I was done around 5pm and we went to dinner with my aunt and uncle (who I am donating the liver to) around 7pm. Shortly after we sat down, my Dad apparently had a very small stroke. So, I'll spare you the details but we were back at the hospital. People recognized me from earlier in the day, "Waht are youstill doing here??" *sigh* guess they better get used to me huh? So, my Dad is doing better - still in the hospital for a day or two longer for some tests. Man, Im fucking exhausted. Life - the hits just keep on coming dont they?

I hope everyone reads this and feels the overwhelming desire to tell the people they love just how much they care about them. Because one second you can be ordering wine at dinner and the next, you're on the way to the hospital.
Take care guys.

wow - so the surgeon heading the transplant team drew me a nice picture of what the scar would look like...
They call it the "Mercedes Benz" cut because of the shape of the emblem the cut resembles.
I found a pic of it online:

*sigh*

Off to the hospital I go for the first barrage of tests for the liver donation...
The pamphlets they give out initially are very positive and fluffy literature - no no nothing happens, it's a simple procedure, piece of cake! Then when you get into the thick of testing,t hey give you a more detailed disclosure about risks and complications and so forth....
ok, yeah - lil more nervous now =S *gulp*

The down side of the upcoming liver donation test appointments - one of them falls on the same day as my 2nd sitting for my tattoo =P
Oh the things I sacrifice! lol but serously, there's work to be done on my basement, so I was gonna have to cancel anyway. Damned responsibilities of homeownership!

Welllll, finally the hospital gets their ass in gear! I got a call back regarding the MRI I had on Decemeber 27th, and despite my best efforts to binge drink, I have enough liver to be a donor for my Uncle! Yay! I have appointments on Feb 9th and 15th for more testing and meeting with various doctors including a shrink (lord knows what he'll find huh? muahahahhaha). All this before we even schedule the surgery - so it's looking like I may potentially get sliced open for my 31st birthday present this year lol whee - no heavy drinking this go round! Ah well, the reward will be extending and enhancing my Uncle's life ;)
I'm so happy to get this good news today!

Well, that whole Mary Kay thing wasn't bad - it was kinda hokey hehheh but hey, they gave me cookies and soda - yay! And my face feels all soft and I did buy this stuff called Satin Lips - it's like an exfoliator for your pucker and it makes your lips all soft and kissable. =}

There's this woman that works at the florist my B&B uses every week. Her name is Lisa. Lisa is from the UK and has bright red, short cropped, occaisionally spikey or sometimes smoothed down hair. Her husband is in a punk band and has lots of tattoos. The other day I heard 10 words I never thought I'd hear come from Lisa.... "Do you want to come to a Mary Kay party?" Isn't that for old ladies? I remember vaguely my Mom did that in the early 80s. Her bedroom closet stocked floor to ceiling with pink boxes. Would she win the coveted pink Cadillac? I could only wait in horror. Anyway, after a moments pause, I thought, "What the hell." I could get some stuff to wash my face or moisturize - I only wear makeup on the rare occaision. It'll be an excuse to get outta the house and maybe make some new friends. *shrug* Or maybe I am just turning into an old lady =P

Last night began my backpiece tattoo - it was a walk in the park. Four hours under the needles and we had the cherry blossoms framing the top, and some branches and top of the tree trunk which obscures the old dragon tattoo I had on my shoulder. The leaves are colored green, but that is all the color we got to so far. I was pretty tired when I got home, though my back was only mildly irritating - like a case of sunburn. This morning was a little more painful, a little tighter, so I know I've got to hop in that shower and then moisturize soon - they recommended Curel Fragrance Free lotion.
Hey, I need someone to help me reach my back! ^^

Regarding my ninja drawing: my friend, Jason, told me that the person entering the room where the ninja is hiding, looks very androgynous (sp?), meaning he couldn't really discern if it was a male or female. Then we started joking about maybe how he was an actor in kabuki. But, anyway, I was really just trying to make her homely because the world is not populated with perfectly conforming, attractively uniform looking people. Right?
Also, well, it did start out as a guy, but I couldn't get a good hairdo on him, and HE looked very feminine to me, and I suddenly preferred a homely woman over a girly boy.

My most favoritest song in all creation...

Echoes (Waters, Wright, Mason, Gilmour) 23:27

Overhead the albatross
Hangs motionless upon the air
And deep beneath the rolling waves
In labyrinths of coral caves
An echo of a distant time
Comes willowing across the sand
And everything is green and submarine.

And no one called us to the land
And no one knows the where's or why's.
Something stirs and something tries
Starts to climb toward the light.

Strangers passing in the street
By chance two separate glances meet
And I am you and what I see is me.
And do I take you by the hand
And lead you through the land
And help me understand
The best I can.

And no one called us to the land
And no one crosses there alive.
No one speaks and no one tries
No one flies around the sun....

Almost everyday you fall
Upon my waking eyes,
Inviting and inciting me
To rise.
And through the window in the wall
Come streaming in on sunlight wings
A million bright ambassadors of morning.

And no one sings me lullabyes
And no one makes me close my eyes
So I throw the windows wide
And call to you across the sky....
