We watched "Blade Runner" last night - I haven't seen that movie in I dunno how long. It made me realize ALL OVER AGAIN how far ahead of it's time it was. That goes ditto for "Alien." Ridley Scott is da man.

I was also thinking, if Xmen the movies had been made back in the day, Rutger would have made a good Wolverine. Or, not to knock Ian McKellan's portrayal, he might have made a cool Magneto, too.
Unfortunately, Rutger, last I saw him, was mired in a horrible made-for-tv movie remake of "Poseidon." On the bright side, he gave a better performance than a haggard, sunbaked, leatherface C. Thomas Howell... on the not-so-bright side, that ain't sayin' much. If you do come across that movie, it is worth some cheap laughs when Steve Gutenberg rips the sleeves off his shirt to show us he's had plenty of time to work out since "Cocoon."

Is anyone else reading Marvel's "Civil War"?

...you really should. It's fantastic.

By chance, we wandered into a comic shop yesterday and picked up "Battle Pope" - which neither Matt nor I have heard of before. COMEDY GENIUS! The official website isn't up yet, but wikipedia has a lil' tidbit about it. It's definitely worth hiking over to the comic shop to take a look through. And if it doesn't grab you in the first few pages, then your sense of humor must be in a coma.

Today we had a break from humid and sunny. It's overcast, drizzling, and cool. Perfect weather in my opinion. I think I need to move someplace that is more often like this. Any suggestions?
I am reminded a lot of my visit to Ireland a while ago. I was there for the whole month of September and it was beautiful. I have no idea what it's like the rest of the year though. Salisbury, England is quite tolerable in July as I recall.

I don't want to ruin anything for anyone wanting to see X3, so I'll just say one thing:
"Don't you know who I am?"
A thoroughly enjoyable follow up to the first two Xmen movies.
And the Ghost Rider trailer preceeding it rocked, too!

Ever since we picked up Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance for a bargain at $7.99 last week, and finished it in two days, I have been hankering for more 2 player rpg action! I went a little crazy on eBay and bought Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance II (which they say is kinda hard to find, and indeed our local game resale shops did not have it), Champions of Norrath: Realms of Everquest, Champions: Return to Arms, Star Ocean: Till the End of Time (a little scifi rpg to go with the fantasty), and Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel (a post-apocalyptic dungeon crawl for something different). Replaying Dark Alliance while I wait for everything to arrive in the mail. I think that should keep us busy, at least for a couple weeks ^_^
Matt is wondering when I will break down and buy World of Warcraft. =I
*fights the darkside*
noooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
I know too many people who have been lost to WoW! lol
Maybe if we got a 2nd computer and Matt could play, too, then I would consider it - but chances are we'd get an Xbox360 or PS3 before that! Has anyone played Oblivion yet? I haven't but Matt's brother has - the screenshots look amazing. Too bad it isn't available for online play, but I read that there's something like 200+ hours of gameplay in there, so *shrug* sounds totally worth it to me!

Matt and I are in the midst of writing a business plan for our store, which we have decided to name Little Akiba after the Akihabara district near Tokyo, Japan. Akihabara is best-known as one of the largest shopping areas on Earth for electronic, computer, anime, and otaku goods. The locals refer to it as Akiba. So far, this has been the hardest thing I've had to do - I guess because so much hinges on it and it is completely new territory - I've never had to write a business plan, have you?). We have found a perfect spot for lease only five blocks away from our house, and the property owner seemed incredibly interested in our ideas for the shop. She sent me an email tonight to tell me someone else who has shown interest in the location is ready to finalize a lease on Monday *gulp* Must move fast. Finish the plan, show it to who we have to show it to, cross fingers and hope we haven't lost the opportunity at this location. Not that we wouldn't continue to pursue it at another place, but who wouldn't like to work five blocks away from their house?
So, please, keep your fingers crossed for Matt and I. We can use all the help we can get. It's a very nervous and exciting time for us!

"Welcome to Thunderdome, bitch!"
If any of you have worked as a waiter/waitress or kitchen staff of a restaurant and want to see an absolutely hilarious and accurate depiction of the hell it is to work in that industry - you must check out this movie:
"Waiting..." starring Ryan Reynolds. It's one of the best movies I've seen in a while - had me in stitches!
