"Charlotte Jones get up and get ready for school." said my extremely annoying stepmother, June. "Okay God we do this every morning just shutup!" I say while scratching my face. I'm Chuck by the way, Chuck Jones. " Come on Chi- Chi, time to get up!" I scream towards my highky opinionated demon- cat Chi - Chi. I've had him since I was 4 and he is the best friend a girl could ever ask for. Did I also mention that he can talk? " Ugh, I can't go to school with you so why wake me up so early?" said Chi- Chi as he streched and licked his paws. " Because," I said while combing my unecessarily thick dark brown hair. " I have no one better to talk to while I'm getting ready." Chi-Chi just looked at me, laughed and jumped on my dresser. I put on my uniform and ran to the train.
"Goodness Chuck you're an absolute mess, what happened?" said Kyra my extremely ditzy friend. " Well, Kyra if you must know......IT'S RAINING!" I screamed as I enter the classroom soaked to the bone. "Oh, sorry Chuck I forgot." said Kyra while blushing. She knows she's not the most intelligent human but she makes up for it with her southern charm. kyra moved to Tokyo when she was 5 from Dallas, Texas. "Alright class settle down." said headmistress Mai. She was a sweet old woman but she knew how to be mean when provoked. " Turn to page 102 and lets get started." She said as she was opening her lesson book.
"So, do you want to go to the mall today, Chuck? said Misa. Misa was the only true Japanese girl in our group. Sure Kyra is asian but she was born in the United States and I most definitely not asian and I have no idea where I came from. My parents were just 16 when I was born so they had to give me up. I wish I at least knew their names so I could try to find them. " no I don't f eel good I'm going home." Iwasn'tlying I really felt sick to my stomach and it made it worse thinking of the putrid smell of sushi that the mall serves every day. I sat down in the seat of the train and tried to close my eyes to get rid of the pain. Then, a sharp pain in my chest knocked me backwards out of my seat. When I realized I had been punched I looked up to see my attacker, and all I saw were wings speeding past me as I stood up holding my stomach in deep pain.
I went home in pain, which inreased as I walked up the stairs to my room. The pain is so sharp that I fling the door open to find a man in his mid twenties in the middle of the floor. " Who the hell are you and what are you doing in my room?!" I scream as the man stands up, it looked like he had been fighting and in real pain. Then, the man grabbed me by the shoulders and said " I'm Chi-Chi, your cat." At first I didnt beleive him, but then I saw those bright green eyes and I knew it was him. I sat him down and said " TELL ME WHATS GOING ON OR I SWEAR 9 LIVES WON'T BE ENOUGH TO SAVE YOU!!"
"Okay, Okay!" Chi-Chi said. He cleared his throat and said "I'm a guardian cat for the Melrot family.....I was your fathers guardian cat. Chuck your parents didn't give you up, they died to save you,. Your mother, Loreli was an angel and your father, James a demon like me only of a higher class." He paused for a breath " When your parents were 16 they kept a secret and that secret was you. They were killed because you are of both worlds, the one to stop a war that could destroy the human race!"
I stood there, stunned at what I had I just heard. How could I Charlotte Loreli Jones, be half demon, half angel? I don't have anything exciting in my life except I talk to a friggin cat! I've never considered myself important and now I'm responsible for entire human race! I never thought my life had this much secrecy in it! I look at Chi-Chi and ask " What does this mean for me now?" he looked down and said "You have to save the Earth Plane before the Demon Plane and the Angel Plane collide in a catastrophic battle that could destroy everything you care about, and..." Chi-Chi looked me up and down, chuckled and said " we have a lot of work to do before you're ready to battle on the Demon Plane." I looked at him in a slightly confused way and asked " How long until the battle begins?" " There have been little battles going on for thousands of years, evry few hundred years the two planes let out a few pure blodds on to the Earth Plane to do dirty work which is how your mother and father met but not all of the pure bloods went back when they were supposed to, they wanted to look for you. Your parents gave you to June their human friend to take care of you until I could come defend you. The actual war is expected to start in 5 years." he said while scratching his cat ears. I looked down then I looked at myself in the mirror. My eyes had went from brown to purple and my hair was a velvety black and super straight. " Whats happening to me, Chi-Chi? Why is this happening to me?!" I scream as I hit my knees in the middle of the floor. Chi-Chi quickly grabs me and hugs me and says " It's not our choice who we are, the choice is how we learn to accept our destiny and choosing they path we're most meant for."
So now 5 years later, I think about my decision to join the battle for the safety of Earth Plane. I understand who I am and who I'm meant to be............ to be continued in part 2.
