I was walking downtown today and I saw a couple breaking up. She refused to get into the car because of it. They were probably in college and looked middle class. The car was really nice too. I found it kind of extreme that she was making such a scene but then I started ease-dropping, if it was hard to do. He was the one do the breaking up, and she just yelled as he broke her heart."I understand! There is no such thing as forever. I understand! Promises are suppose to be forever, but there is no such thing. Promises are made to be broken. Love is a lie, love is not real."

Then the next part she said really hit home. "People just don't want to be lonely. We are born alone, and we die alone. But apparently going through life alone is simply unheard of. Even the people who are truly alone turn to God to ease their pain." It gets better.

"People never mean what they say. They just say the things that are convenient to them. ‘Hey, if I say, “I love you” I can get all the attention I want, and all the sex I want, and anything I want!’ It means nothing! Love is a lie, love is not real. Everyone just lies, you just lie." Then she sat on the ground. He said nothing to her, he just left her on the sidewalk and drove away. I waited in the building across the street and watched her call her mom. She was broken and damage and did not move from her spot on the sidewalk. People walked by and stared at the shattered person. Her mom eventually came and picked her baby girl off of the ground and held her. They got in their car and left. But her words stick with me until this very moment at 11:00 at night.

Is love a lie, is love even real? Are promises just made to be broken? I think this too, I supposed. But I just hope and prayer that I am wrong.
