I'm pouring out my heart onto black, unlined paper.
It makes a pretty picture that only I can see.
I'm writing with my veins the tale of a soul
who's felt ignored, unwanted, a fake.
A love so true, indeed, but a lie undeniably so.
I'm hiding these tears with a few second's worth of typing.
Nothing's real in cyberspace.
I lie awake, pounding at my pillow,
thrashing at my bed, throwing a lamp lacking it's own ideas.
And then I open my eyes and realize
perfection is found in everything but yourself.
So now you sit there, and you fail to notice
the tears I'm not crying,
the words I'm not screaming,
the pain I am hiding from you.
