16:55 — Whoo! My parents came home yesterday with a new car! It's a Volkswagen Passat, turbodiesel (not sure if the expression is that in English, but oh well). It's weird, too. No key (it just has a button thing you press and the block of a "key" is used to open the doors only), no handbrake (another button, whee) and it's by the description a cross between a gas and diesel car. I gotta drive.
In other news, I totally got full points from all programming assignments! Damn I'm good.
22:44 — Geez, I can't help feeling that I'm the best of those who did te Programming course I was in. I most likely aren't, just one among those who got full points from the assignments. Oh well, maybe I should dwell in my happiness while I can and antasize about working as an assistant who checks programming assignments. XD Sad.
I drove the new car! It's a bit weird and big, but still great. Whee.
23:44 — I finished the first book in Wraeththu (The Enchantments of Flesh and Spirit) today! Yay! I squee at it, though I still have some haunting unanswered questions and I made a word list that's a small dictionary of difficult words. I really, really shouldn't read anything tomorrow because I have to do homework and read the physics lab instruction thing! Argh.
In other news, go look at my stuff in Veltzeh's pictures already. Shoo!
23:36 — I have no idea how pathetic THIS is going to sound, but it was so absurd in some weird way that I deem it worthy of sharing. Apparently mom had taken the two towels from the toilet to be washed. now, usually she replaces them, but not this time. I went to brush my teeth and saw empty where the two towels should be. I kinda needed them, so I went to get two towels. When I had them and put them on their respective hooks, I got this joyous feeling of being the first one to use them. ALLLLL MINE. Maybe this is a sign that I've been living at home with four other people too long.
20:03 – I was idling on this Finnish IRC channel when somebody started speaking about some physics genius. Said they were "semi-autistic
I suppose the best/worst part was when right after I said I disargeed, the nurse said in an asking manner that I' probably know a lot about it and am myself "semi-autistic
But yes. Eventually everything makes me think about definitions and mathematics... my brain is weird/great like that.
19:16 — I've been kind of busy. I really should read for that physics test. I had a really weird dream last night. I was walking home or something fromsomewhere, got lost in some totally weird place that was a combination of Tampere and Ylöjärvi's centers and my home village and there was some really weird fest or SOMETHING going on there and I had a real lot of difficulty trying to get out of there. I woke up shortly after a Japanese person insulted me. There was also a creature that resembled closely either some D&D monster or this weird thing from Metroid Prime. Or both. Okay, yeah. Next physics lab is on next week's Friday. We're going to get a new car. I'm half ill and my nose leaks.
I've been uploading my newest drawings to http://veltzeh
11:29 — Damn Saturday exam. Apparently today was the only day the big lecture halls were free enough to hold the big maths exams. I got up at about 7 and it was -23°C outside. Yay. Well, exam went pretty good. I only totally blew one part of one exercise and was slightly clueless in a few others. I think it went okay, still. Oh, the pain of result-waiting
While I was driving back home, there was some rabbit-pants (however a combination of jänishousu, hätähousu and sunnuntaiautoi
13:16 — Huahahaha! http://www.pla
19:33 — Had a nice diaryless time while I was too busy to write any? I'm still squeeing over the Babylon 5 telepath trilogy. Somebody told me about these Wraeththu things yesterday and in about half a minute I got so hooked that I ordered a book about them.
I've finished the final programming assignment and took the test today. The test was either a total trick test or totally easy. I was done with it in 30 minutes. It'd be ironic if I got full points from both the assignments and the test. I did get full points from the four assignments.
I've been so busy that I haven't been able to do much. I finished my third character for the Official Role-Playing Tournament. Party 4 for Realms of Lemire is on its way.
I should've read for the math exam, really. I should write up that physics lab right now. I should read physics. I should finish the physics homework. I should type up our RPG log for the D&D game. Guess what! I'll be reading a stupid webomic.
22:31 — Now I seem to have finished the last part of the Babylon 5 telepath trilogy. I'm so damned happy. Telepaths, squee!
I noticed a pattern with trilogies, if they're meant to be such. The first part is great, the second not so great, and the last is awesome.
18:33 — I finished the second part of the Babylon 5 telepath trilogy! Whee! I know the secret behind Bester's left hand!
23:08 — I probably fell asleep at about midnight and woke up at 6. Went to school, came back, went there again, ate, did math PC exercises, idled in the RPG club and then played for 5 hours. :D Whee! Always makes me feel better. I also got labs written up a bit (though I feel like I'm dumping a whole lot of work on my lab partner, but oh well), worked on my programming assignment and stuff yesterday and the day before that and so on.
About the game session...
My character (Colve) and another player's character (Théo) argued very heatedly about the ownership of a certain necklace. I suppose Théo's player was just trying to be mean because he's making his character go from good to evil so he can become a cool prestige class. Colve had other reasons for taking it, first, whatever protection it would give would improve just about anything because my little halfling rogue is just that much tinier and stuff. AC is 15, sob. Second, it randomly heard something say that they should not lose the necklace. Of course they wouldn't lose it if it were on Théo, but like a rogue trusted someone, so it wanted it all to itself... Anyway, the necklace was part of a loot we had promised to share with the leader of a lizard village, so we went off to share the loot. We dropped all the items to be shared, even the necklace (Théo had gotten it first), and in the loot-splitting process Colve took the necklace for itself. Later Théo got heated up about that because he had had it first. Colve argued that he'd given it up for splitting so it was Colve's. Well, they argued heatedly about it and collected a bunch of curious lizardfolk to stare at them. Théo threatened, among other things, to fight and kill Colve, said that if it sneaked out the potion we gave to the lizard chief, he'd let Colve keep the necklace. Well, after a long while of reasoning we just did paper-rock-sci
22:10 — Haha, if you just clicked on this diary note, I'm sure you want to vote in this poll: <poll:66526>
13:07 — I got up at 6. -23 freaking Celsius outside! Luckily we had anticipated this and set the cars to get warmed up way before. However, I was running late (well, my dad was (he lost his cell phone) and I was supposed to take him to work) and, on top of that, the gas meter started beeping when I got close to dad's job place. I had whopping 43 minutes to get from my dad's workplace, get gaws and drive to university. Well, surprisingly enough, I made it. Filled half the tank and drove at yellow lights, but damn, I made it. No more math lectures this period! Whee!
15:16 — Yesterday I got up to find the net was incapacitated, went to university, did school stuff for seven hours, learned to play Magic: The Gathering and then played D&D for four hours. We're still sentenced to death, but one of the deathwalkers set us free to do her dirty business. At the moment we're trying to suck up to lizardfolk. Yes, it was fun.
Today it was -18°C outside. In addition, I made another physics lab, dealing with inertia.
16:31 — Last night I watched the Farscape miniseries thing called Peacekeeper wars. Whee, liked it. In addition to that, before that I had a great D&D session. Our characters got sentenced to death for violating sacred corpse-keeping
Today I was in my uncle's wife's public defense of doctoral thesis. I got to start reading the second book of the Babylon 5 telepath trilogy! Oh and I got cake. And meat-pie-thing
13:06 — I probably feel way too proud for just managing to make a phonecall. And I screwed it up the first try because I had left the damn phone silenced... I don't even know whether that would affect making the call in the first place. Oh well, when you're as sucky as I am with respect to social interaction, you'd think it was a great achievement, too.
In other news, I'll advertize the Official Role-Playing Tournament because I can. I'll sign up myself when I get my two characters in a playable condition. I need to write up a bio for a character from my own RPG and edit one character bio because I explained everything in overly general terms. Of course, I should never start to write about telepathy. I end up writing so damn much.
20:36 — Whoo, now I have PayPal and I can request and receive money from people! Muahaha. Pay me. Now.
In other news, I wasn't that dead in school today, though I felt rather sick at about after noon. I need to do a physics lab tomorrow.
07:46 — I went to sleep at about 23. Fell asleep at about midnight. Woke up a little before 3. Rolled in bed for two hours without being able to sleep. So I just got up and logged in. I'm damn tired. In addition to not being able to sleep I felt very nauseous. Not sick, but bad. It wasn't too strong to make me feel like throwing up (okay, except when I rolled in bed too fast), though. It's the sort of nauseous feeling you have if you haven't had enough to eat. Well, I had had plenty of food and eating didn't exactly help. My dad said it's because of the change in daily rhythm. That's weird, because I went to bed about 0–3 hours earlier than usual. and didn't get bad feelings when I changed my sleeping rhythm two weeks ago. Unless this is the sick-becoming part of that change and not the return to normal. Nevertheless, it's late and illogical in my brain.
In other news, I've been busy (and bouncy) with my little RPG project. I got caught up making another character, but damn I had fun. I couldn't decide what sex the character was so I started writing up the description without any personal pronouns. Well, about halfway the description I figured out a sex for it but decided to keep on writing without personal pronouns, half because the first beginning was that way already and half because I defied gender again. Well, by the time I finished the description, I'd forgotten the sex already. Go me.
This is an excerpt from a conversation I had at the time:
[2006/01/09_06:56:06] <Veltzeh> I didn't use personal pronouns >_>
[2006/01/09_07:10:06] <mod> another non gender specific?
[2006/01/09_07:11:01] <mod> in my head there's a bunch of your androgyn chara standing together pointing at a male one and whisper amongst themselves "penis! omg!"
[2006/01/09_07:15:48] <Veltzeh> XDD
[2006/01/09_07:16:14] <Veltzeh> well usually my androgynes have a penis of some kind, too ;)
[2006/01/09_07:16:34] <Veltzeh> but they could go "balls! omg!"
[2006/01/09_07:17:12] <Veltzeh> anyway, nope, that one's erm... "normal", if you can say that XD
[2006/01/09_07:17:33] <Veltzeh> I just couldn't decide what sex it was until I had already written haf of the desc
[2006/01/09_07:17:49] <Veltzeh> then I just continued my pronounlessnes
[2006/01/09_07:20:03] <mod> ha
[2006/01/09_07:20:43] <Veltzeh> but now I forgot what sex I decided it was...
[2006/01/09_07:21:02] <Veltzeh> I wonder if this ever happens to other people >_>
...Right.
16:15 — I don't think I've felt this dead even last year in the signal processing lectures. I theoretically slept through the first programming lecture. After that, it got to a really interesting point (namely an issue I didn't yet know about) and I got a bit better. I was more attentive on physics exercise class, but wasn't too alert there either. Fortunately the subjects weren't too hard to understand. I sure as hell didn't stay there for programming exercises. I'd be sitting there listening to stuff I already know and wouldn't be home testing my new knowledge about file in- and output.
02:20 — University starts again next Monday. I'm going to be so screwed and dead. I haven't been doing my homework or any reading and my sleeping rhythm is totally unacceptable by working standards. I'm worried that I won't have time for all the stuff I need time for. Eek. I also have a book to read. Next period I'll also have to study Swedish again... I could be worse screwed, but even this is getting on my "stress" indicator.
I was given my first RPG campaign to GM probably yesterday. It was rather sudden. I hope I won't fail completely...
I'm probably in a negative and a little angsty mode this night. Maybe I should just finish this character.
04:16 — A whole lot of stuff has happened lately. I say that because I can't really go into too much detail. Let's just say that I've been drawing, snow-plowing and reading webcomics. Specifically http://www.dom
15:42 — Whaddaya know. http://www.liv
15:45 — Oh, by the way, I also got the Legend of the Rangers DVD (Babylon 5 stuff) yesterday and watched it. Yay!
13:24 — Dangit. I'm really tired, and since I'm pretty sure I slept good, there's two things I can blame. 1) My parents caught a cold from my tiny cousin and now I'm getting it. 2) The firework fumes got into my brain. Some brainiac opened the door in the night and let all the smoke in. Or then it was normal fumes when my parents started making tin figures.
14:17 — Last night I accidentally poked myself too far in the throat with my toothbrush while I was brushing my teeth and I nearly threw up. However, I didn't. Now, this happens to me every now and then, maybe a few times a year, and it's always the same, I get a throwing up reflex but I never actually throw up. I think I can somehow consciously prevent stuff coming up from my stomach. I have weird control over my body. I can move my nostrils, scalp, move my ears up and down, have the other corner of my mouth go down and other up, turn my tongue upside-down (to both sides) and open up my Eustachian tube without yawning or swallowing. I can roll my tongue into an U-shape thanks to my genes, but I can also make it wavy because I practiced that. Those are rather head-specific things. I can also make weird finger and toe gestures and stop shivering when I'm cold. (And probably other stuff I've forgotten.)
Well, maybe everyone else can do this too, it's not like I knew. I felt like sharing. XD
