There's a site called ArtUproar, that I think very few people use these days... I had an account there long ago, and last night I suddenly remembered about it. O_o
The most recent artwork I had uploaded there was dated 2004! XD
So I uploaded some new things - the mermaid, a chibi Caria and my Octogirl one...
And the mermaid received a 'highlight', which is like a Daily Deviation... O_o
*is stunned and disturbingly proud* I've never had anything like that before! *is hugely flattered, because the people who do post are hugely awesome...*
I need to rant about something completely pointless *somewhere*, and if I do it in my LJ my friends are going to point and laugh...
There's a TV series over here called 'Primeval', and it's ITV's answer to Doctor Who / Torchwood. Basically, it's like Torchwood for teenagers, with added dino.
And for the last three weeks I've sat and sniggered at it. Well, sometimes it's been outright laughter. The characters don't connect with each other, the plotting is implausable even for a show that has a 'dinosaur of the week' premise, it features the AWESOME line "this is conclusive proof that the past exists!" (really? whatever gave you that idea, Nick?), and in the first episode, you had a dino of a comparable size to a T-Rex stomping around in a residential area AND NO ONE NOTICED IT. It tore into a house and NO. ONE. NOTICED. IT. NO. ONE. HEARD IT.
And basically, I've been watching it for the last four weeks out of a six-ep run, and for the last three weeks I've been laughing.
But something really, REALLY scary has happened.
I watched ep four. And NOW I LIKE THE GODS DAMNED SHOW. And the worst of it? I'm probably even gonna buy it on DVD when it's released.
SHOOT ME. SHOOT ME NOW.
...I'm even writing Stephen/Connor fanfic...

It's weird, drawing a manga that follows on from a story barely written, yet one I know all the details of.
Most intruiging will be Owen and Shield's relationship when they meet again. That relationship was weird to start with.
See, normally when I dream, I make the people from those dreams into my characters. It's kinda rare for me to actually dream about characters I already have going.
But somewhere there is a section of story I wrote about a dream where Shield and Owen met. And liked one another. Right up until Shield found that Owen was trying to kill everyone.
It's funny how dredging up old stories makes you think more about motivations you thought were perfectly clear to start with initially.
And what DO I do with this once-twelve-ye
