11 Nov - Day 5. Utrecht

After a good night of sleep, We decided our first visit would be to Utrecht, the town nearby. The city has quite a few churches and old-looking buildings worth taking pictures of. It is also crossed by canals, giving the area a slight "Venice" look.

We visited the town a bit randomly, as it's one of the best ways to come across interesting things you didn't know about.

Funny rocket-shaped building. It's as if you could set fire to the column, and it would fly and explode in fireworks ^^

It has also an impressive cathedral The cathedral has one lone tower completely apart from the main building. It's called "De Dom" (the dome). It looks rather impressive, built in gothic style. The fact that the tower is not part of the main building is unusual to me, but I sort of like the idea.

You can climb on top of the tower, where the view must be amazing, but unfortunately there were no more tickets available on sale on that day. Further away, next to the canals, the amount of bikes parked was impressive. It really seems to be very popular.

Bikes!!! And that tree looks like it's scratching its head

We found a street marker, and that's probably one of the first I see with at least one stand dedicated to bikes and bike products.
