AO - 8
Faust gave
Tierra a nudge. "So come on, tell us about you."
Tierra pushed his arm away. "Well, I was orphaned and left to wonder a small town somewhere, when some rogues took me in and trained me up to be their best thief. Unfortuanately theyt were betrayed and caught leaving me on the run. Then I found you guys and thought you might have some food I could 'borrow' but then I was stunned and got caught. I think that's it. Can I get up now?"
Nervote helped her up and moved up on the side of the cart to allow her to sit next to him.
Tierra smiled. "Thank you. Now I would like to know where you are all going and if I have to come?"
Faust looked around at peoples blank expressions. "We're heading for
Saruna."
Tierra considered it. "Sounds like a nice place. Lots of rich people and markets. But why are you being attacked by creatures that normally hide and wait for people to fall into traps?" She looked at them suspiciously.
"We told you, they're trying to get our seals."
Faust thoghut for a moment. "You say these things usualy lie in wait. Do you think this might mean we could be heading towards any number of traps?"
Tierra sighed. "All of the creatures like this that I have met have laid traps nto searched for people. So I thought it was odd when you were attacked by that thing but I can see traps easily, it's not magic just being watchful, so you'll know if you're heading for one."
"These creatures have a strange and faint heartbeat, almost more magical then natural,"
Andreas looked at her, "I suspect they are not living, as most necromonks are also undead."
Tierra gulped. "Now I'm thinking it would be safer to stick around, you seem to know what you're dealing with."
"I'm glad to know you are staying, just don;t do anything un-expected." said
Nervote.
Mirany's ear twitched as she sat alert, listening for any signs of disturbance.
Nervote looked at
Mirany, "What wrong?" There was alot of concern in his voice.
The cat girl narrowed her eyes. "I'm not sure," she said. She turned to face
Nervote "I think there's something in the trees but I -,"
Suddenly, out of the dense forest, an arrow flew and hit its target.
Mirany toppled over the cart's edge and fell lifeless to the ground. Another arrow followed in quick succession and embedded itself into the wood. The Elven arrow was easily recognisable from its quality fletching and shaped tip.
Tierra dived under the cart. She pulled her bow out and nocked an arrow.
A rich laugh echoed from the forest. "You are brave, young human. But I wouldn't recommend that you fight an Elf... even if one befriends you. We are not always so accomadating."
Tierra dropped her bow. "I hate elves when they do that." She grumbled to herself.
Nervote shocked removed his bow from his quiver and notched another of his long elven arrows in the bow, he was ready for the other elves next move.
The new elf laughed openiy again. "Watch your step
Nervote. Being the nephew of an elven king will not prevent me from killing you if neccessary." The elf came out into the sunlight, the rays scattering off her unsheathed sword. Her short auburn hair was scattered in waves across her head, and her blue eyes sparkled with mischief. Elven runes formed on her fingers and lips, uncast and unspoken, but ready to fire.
Andreas smiled but did not prepare his weapons, "Have we not met before?"
"Not in my memory..." answered the elf, pausing to think. "But my memory is not as good as it was." She sighed and sheathed her sword. It sang a protest, but she silenced it. "Are we going to stand here like fools, or are we going to actually do something?" She took a step forward, and collapsed onto the road.
Andreas smiled again as she fell, the dart he had thrown was effective, "You're right, we haven't met, but it made for a nice distraction."
