Abarhi rode through the forest, noticing that the trees where so thick now that he doubted any form of sunlight could get here. He could sense some of the beasts out there, some of them to close for comfort and it made him uneasy especially because he was still to weak and could only make use of the simplest of his abilities.

Nadya had her horse follow Abarahi's. "It's so dark in here.... it's like I could be out in the day light in here..." she whispered.

A huge wolf stepped out in front of them, followed by many smaller ones. A woman stepped out of the crowd, her eyes settling on Abarhi "What brings you here, shadow dancer?" Her voice was ice cold. Abarhi's horse snorted, backing up slightly. He smiled "Well well well, if it isn't the wolf vixen and her slaves....just let me pass and i won't put so many of your brethren to the sword as i did last time" His abilities as an elemental may be limited, but he was still a shadow assasin.

Nadya stopped her horse, watching the woman, cautiously.

The woman arrogantly smiled "You think you can best me? Look behind me" she said softly. She wore practically nothing. Abarhi smiled before dissapearing. Cries and screams of pain errupted behind the horrified woman. Nearly a dozen wolves lay dead around Abarhi "Remind me again what it was you where so proud of?" he asked coldly as they crossed blades.

"You may want to leave, Lady wolf..." Nadya said softly.

"And who is this? A little young girl you brought out deep in the woods to have alittle fun with?...how's about i let what's left of my pack eat her while you whach" she snarled. This was to much for Abarhi, he rained furious blow after blow on the woman, driving her against the tree "I'm afraid i can't let that happen" he plunged his fist through her body, splintering the tree behind her. A scream of pain came as she attempted to hack at Abarhi, slashing down ward on his armour, splintering the metal.

A knife found itself being dug into the woman's neck, the handle of the blade being held by Nadya. "I am not a little girl...."

The woman appeared behind Nadya "So it would seem" Abarhi raised an eyebrow, grunting in pain as a wolf clamped down onto his shoulder, tearing away the armor and into the flesh. "My name is Neira, and you Vampire have no other buisness then being burnt alive" she growled, her wound healed as she drew her secound sword.

"I am of the noble Nyx family!" Nadya said, holding her knife in her hand. "You don't scared me wolf!" Nadya went to attack the woman, throwing her knife straight at the woman, then waving her hand causing two of her wolves to fly directly at her.

Abarhi drove his hand through the head of another wolf, turning just in time to see Neira being forced to fight two of her own. Neira smiled "Ahh so a noble murderess? How fitting" she dispached the two wolves before straightening. Abarhi walked towards her, shoulder bleeding from multiple bite wounds and head streaming blood from hitting the ground "Neira, leave and i won't kill you" the Woman seemed to contemplate this as she pulled the knife from her chest. Abarhi appeared behind her as her chest exploded in a fountain of gore "You underestimate what i am capable of wolf, you can regenerate all save your heart and mind, so i leave you to die now" he turned to Nadya "That is unless you wish to have a snack my love"

"I could use a snack from one that sees me as a murderess....when I am not such..." Nadya came over, and started to drain the woman.

The life drained from her eyes, she knew she had lost and Abarhi could, even with his senses so weakened, sense the aura of despair about her. He held her still beating heart in his hand before crushing it. He had learned the lethal attack from Turan and had often found it most useful.

Nadya moved from the body, whipping her mouth. "I...Abarahi...I'm not a murderess am I?"

"You ask me if your a murderess when i hold a heart i tore from somones chest? No Nadya, like i said i've met her before and i'm not about to go branding anyone who brought her low a murderer" he whistled softly for the horses who came from further back along the road. He cleaned his blades before sheathing them "There's a raider camp near by here, be careful" he said softly "Some of them are hunters"

Nadya nodded, mounting her horse, and staying near him.

They soon rode up to a ruined village, Abarhi looked grim "Don't worry...this village hasn't been inhabited in many years" he couldn't help but still see the streets being more alive, when the forest hadn't grown so tall an blotted out the sun "When do you want to stop Nadya?" he asked softly as they neared the far end of the ruins.

"Near sunset would be good.... and unless it is clear the sun won't comethrough, we can continue til you need to rest, yourself...."

He nodded, not having any desire to sleep in the ruins. He saw in the distance a set of walls "That's new...i don't remember any castles here in the woods" he noticed a rider mounted on a huge wolf whaching them from a distance. He payed it no attention though.

Nadya nodded, having her horse follow closely.

"You alright?" he asked softly, casting another warry glance at the giant wolf and rider, who had now been joined by two others "Looks like we have whachers...i don't remember this forest being so infested...then again it's been awhile since i've dared come here"

"I am... I'm just nervous because of them....." she said carefully pointing at the watchers.

"They won't attack us just yet, and when they do it will most likely only be their leader" he stiffened as the one who appeared to be the leader approached them "What buisness does an Elf and a Vampire have in these parts?" Abarhi narrowed his eyes "Who cares" his voice sounded mildly disembodied, the rider backed up alittle "What is your name? Vampires are not welcomed here" he said slowly. Abarhi smiled "No one needs to know my name, and as for the Vampire; she's with me wolf rider"

Nadya looked at the Wolf rider. "I...I don't mean any harm coming here.... I am... we are just traveling, sir....I am not like what vampires that may still exist....I....I was the last of my family line to be.....born....." she said softly. "Please....just let us pass....."

The wolf rider reguarded her for a moment before turning to Abarhi "As is custom elf, in order for you to pass you must first duel me" Abarhi shook his head "If you insist on dying but i suppose your culture can't help that"
The rider an wolf snarled as if one. Abarhi calmly dismounted, removing his shirt an revealing the criss cross patterns of scars. Some where deeper or more pronounced than others. He drew his sword, discarding the other weapons into the travel bag.

Nadya looked worried. "Please....we don't have to do this.... we could just go back the way we came and go around...." she said softly to Abarahi.

"Once i defeat this champion, we are guranteed safe passage for the rest of our journey through the forest, as the wolf riders guard their borders well" he turned to face the young champion "When you're ready...mortal"

The rider backed up slightly, a wicked smile crossed his face "As you wish, foolish ancient, but if i win then your little wench is at my mercy" he produced a shining silver tipped spear.

"I am no wench...." she said softly glaring at the rider, before, backing her horse up, to watch the fight from a safe area.

He ignored her as he urged his mount to charge the dismounted Abarhi. Abarhi smiled "you think a simple lance charge will do? My my my" he shook his head reappearing behind the wolf. The wolf stopped, as if momentarily frozen in time, then a hole gushed blood from its' chest as it toppled over with a scream. The angry rider glared at him "So, one of those are you?" then a flash step battle began. Each combatant reappearing in multiple different spots, but soon Abarhi was over match. He was simply worn out from loss of blood and the after affects of Gurthar's attack. With a sickening thud, the rider sent a kick into his abdomen, causing Abarhi to fly back into a tree arm first. The eerie cracking of bones was heard as Abarhi slumped to the ground, his face contorted in pain. The rider recovered his spear and slowly advanced towards Abarhi.

Nadya jumped off of her horse, rushing to Abarahi's side. "Abarahi!" she cried out. She carefully held onto him, as she looked up glaring at the rider. "Stop this...no more.... just leave us be!"

Abarhi placed his good hand on her shoulder "Nadya, it's ok....i'm about to win" he said so that ony she could hear. The rider approached, a smile across his face "Your elf lord agreed to a duel to the death...an i intend to make good on it" he held the silver spear inches from Abarhi's chest, an then the old elf smiled "You're finished" he roared in pain as he tore apart the mind of his opponent with what was left of his strengh.

Nadya watched at the rider fell dead. She still held Abarahi close, he was bleeding and she could feel that he was so weak from everything that night. "Abarahi...." she whispered.

He winced in pain, his arm was shattered and broken in many places "Y-yes Nadya?" he tried hard to keep the pain from his voice.

She smiled softly at him. "What am I going to do with you? Always getting yourself hurt....." She tore part of her dress, and began to work carefully on his arm.

"Hmmm well if i recall, and unless i'm forgetting somthing, all of them have been to protect you...so it doesn't matter to me" he smiled.

She kissed him gently. "I love you for all the protection...and I just love you..." Nadya kissed him again. "Now....we just need to get you all bandaged up and get moving....and I think I'm going to have to get you to show me a few things so that I can help you...."

He smiled "Well i can't teach you to pulp somone's mind like i just did...for one it's extremely dangerous and for another i don't really want you to end up accidentally hurting yourself, but i will teach you how to defend yourself if only because i may not be there always"

"Thank you love..." she said, smiling.

"You're welcome" he kissed her. He struggled to stand up, he was stubborn and it showed. Even in the amount of pain he was in he refused to remain idle.

Nadya positioned herself close to him, under one of his arms, right against his side, to help support him.

Normally he would have shrugged it off, and even now he found it hard not to do so, but he was to tired an in to much pain to let his pride get in the way of letting the one he loved help him.

She walked him over to the horses. "Now hold still...." He felt himself being lifted off of her, into the air, and then slowly being sat on the horses back.

He looked at her in surprise "Where did you learn that? I might have to teach you some of that mind war stuff after all" he laughed, only to nearly double over from the pain.

"Careful..." she worned before smiling up at him, as she mounted her own horse. "It was something that I was born with the ability to do.....and those two wolves earlier weren't flying on their own at the woman wolf...."

"I had figured that much" his voice was stiff from the pain "Well at least we're safe all the way to the mansion" he attempted to smile, but the pain made it distorted.

She moved the horse over near him. "I love you....now relax..."

"You my mother now?" he teased, his body began surpressing the pain...or going into shock which he hoped wasn't the case.

"Yes," she said, smiling and teasing back. "At least until we get to a safe place to rest and bandage you up more...."

He smiled "you're not going to like this" he took hold of his arm, and with a sickening crunch and grinding noise set it back into place. He wrapped it in a sling "There...all set" his eyes where begining to glaze from the shock.

Nadya shook. "Love... that is exactly why I wanted us someplace safe...." She move her horse right next to his, she reached out to help support him.

"So that i can re-aligne my arm? I'm fine Nadya" he said softly. In truth he was in severe pain and could feel his body numbing itself into shock, but he preffered not to worry her at all if he could help it.

Nadya still held her horse against his, and held him to help support him. "No... you have a glazed look in your eyes....please don't hide this from me....." She started both the horses so that they could get some more distance before resting.

"I hide it because i don't want you to worry" he smiled weakly, poking her nose "We can press on to the Mansion, i really am fine love" he forced the look in his eyes to disappear "I wouldn't lie to you Nadya, i just don't want you to worry.....i think i've given you enough of that" he laughed lightly.

Nadya smiled, and leaned in, kissing him lightly on the cheek. "I worry because I love you...just as youget yourself let this to protect me...." Nadya lead their horses off into the forest in Griffin Kingdom.
