The fish cried.
It had a broken heart.
No one can live with a broken heart.
The fish died.

The Last Tear

A tear ran down my skin
The tear told a story
The story was sad
It was about love and hate
Disappointments and sorrow
It was filled with darkness
It was filled with fear
It left my eye
With all my feelings within

I never cried again
I never smiled again
I closed my eyes
And died inside
My heart went black
My skin went white
I never spoke
I never listened
I never felt
I never lived

I felt alone
They were never there
I cried a lot
They never noticed
I told them I wanted to leav
They didn't listen
I left
They never realiced I'd been there
I phoned them
They never answered
I told them I wanted to die
They didn't even look at me
I died
They cried
Someone asked them what my name had been
They didn't remember

I never understood why I called them my friends

She loved him
He knew it too well
She fell
He laughed
She cried
He didn't care
She talked
He never listen
She yelled
He hit her
She climbed up
He pushed her down
She left
He never followed
She died
He never knew

My Prayer

I light a candle
As it burn I pray
I pray to whoever listens
Don't know if anyone does
But still I pray
Then I blow out the candle
While the smoke mixes with the air
The prayer leaves my heart
I open my window
And let the wind carry the smoke away
In the wind I can hear my prayer
And I know it will reach whoever
That can make my prayer come true

I don’t know them
I’ve never met them
I just caught a glimpse of them
One time I went for a walk

I saw them
In the middle of a crowd
I didn’t notice any of the others
Just those to
*
They stood there
Listened to someone else talk
They stood close to each other
And then she turned towards him
*
She got up on tip toe
And whispered something in his ear
He looked down at her
And said something
*
He bent down
Smiled and kissed her
Then he put his arms around her
And pulled her even closer
*
There was something
Different about them
Something that caught my attention
It was easy to see what
*
Not only did they look happy
They were also the only people
I saw there
That didn’t look lonely

Run after her
Put your arms around her
Hold her tight

Talk to her
Tell her you need her
Whisper it in her ear

Kiss her
Pick her a flower
Show her you care

She saw him
Standing among many other people, dry under that roof
His smile was wide and his eyes were happy
He looked right at her
She walked over to him
Tried to talk to him
But he turned around
And pretended he hadn't heard her

He saw her
Standing alone in the rain, soaked
One of her hands was covering up the lower part of her face
She was standing with her back at him
He walked over to her
Talked to her in a low voice
She turned to face him
And listened to his apology

I can't go back there
Not now
Not ever again
never ever
I myself made sure of that

Not that it matters to me
I won't miss it
The loneliness
The fear
They never gave me reason to stay

Am I happy now?
Not alone?
Not frightened?
Not sad?
Sure I am, but not nearly as much as before

She needs an angel
She needs someone to put their arms around her
And hold her close when she crys
She needs someone to tell her
Everything's gonna be just fine
She needs someone who loves her
And who will tell her they do
She needs to know she's not alone
She needs to feel someone close to her
To know they will be there when she needs them
And she needs someone to need her

When you hear drops fall, don't you look for the water?
Those who don't look for the water may easily drown.
They may fall in the water they didn't see.

When you smell smoke, don't you wonder where it's burning?
Those who don't find out where it's burning may easily get burned.
Or even be trapped in a fire.
*
When you feel pain, don't you try to find out why?
Those who don't care about the pain they feel don't know when they've gone to far.
They don't know their own limits.
*
When you're scared, isn't the fear itself ten thousand times worse than what you're afraid of?
