Rayne walked silently behind Asdroth as he lead her down the great hall towards the High Council Chamber. She wore the fine black gown and crimson satin sash that she had packed just for this occasion, and her long black hair was swept back away from her face and secured with a red hair comb.

As Asdroth, walked forward hopping that the training he had gone through with Rayne, would keep her ready for the true test. As he entered the chamber he stood proud speaking clearly "Introducing the honorable and respected Lady Rayne Phyerstorme, ambassador of the Dark Wood." Asdroth, step aside and hopped that she would do well to remember her place.

Rayne stepped forward and stood before the High Council, she gave a deep nod of her head, pride not allowing her to bend her knees before them. "Members of the High Council, I have traveled from the darkest forests of Leslaundias on behalf of Lord Phyerstorme and the Dark Kymar, with the purpose of--"

"We know what your purpose is, young one." The High Kymar who sat directly opposite the opening, and right in front of Rayne cut her off. "Your Lord Phyerstorme sent a messenger ahead of you. We have already sent our refusal of his request to him, and judging by his actions, he has already received it."

"What are you talking about?" Rayne asked hotly, "That is impossible, my lord entrusted this mission to me personally, he said that I was the only one who he trusted with this task."

Asdroth, felt a hand on his shoulder and a man whispered to him. It was his father "They are mobilizing... they are going attacking ever Kymar civilization. As she is a messenger she we be allowed to leave... are you sure you wish to carry this out." Asdroth, nodded and stepped forward before the council. "My lords what do you mean by your statements? Also I never received a runner at my home for the Dark Wood before yesterday morning."

Asdroth's, father stood, and acknowledged his sons presents. "we have received word from our allies and border guards of the similar situation, and a mobilization of troops to the border. They seek to strike, and we have herd no news from the Wood Kymar. this leads us to fear the worst as the scout group we sent to investigate and make contact has not returned." Asdroth's father points to Rayne "Her nation has declared war. the runner just yesterday has made it clear to us they will take what they are after, and crush all who stand in there way."

"Impossible!" Rayne cried out, "Lord Phyerstorme is honorable, you must have been mislead. He raised and trained me to be his right hand, he entrusted me alone with negotiating the readmitance of the Dark Kymar into Kymar society. He cannot have done these things!"

"Never the less, he has." Said the first Council member who then looked to Asdroth, "Asdroth, take Lady Rayne back to wherever it is that she has been staying. Lady Rayne Phyerstorme, you are hereby placed under house arrest for you association with an enemy of the Kymar."

Asdroth, gently set a hand on Rayne's should and gently started willing her to calm down and come peacefully back to his home. "please come with me to my home, and we can talk feather of what is happening Lady Rayne."

Rayne felt a soothing preasence within her mind, she struggled against it. Phyerstorme had warned her of what Spirit Elementals were capable of, he had told her that they might attempt to sway her, turn her against him. She turned on Asdroth, barely restraining herself, "You!" she hissed, "Spirit Elemental, remove yourself from my mind. And you!" she turned and pointed around at the Council members, her eyes blazing like an inferno, "If I didn't have orders from my lord himself not to harm a single one of you, you would all be writing on the floor of your precious chamber, engulfed in flame. I will not be made to turn against Lord Phyerstorme, no lies you can fabricate can sway me."

"Asdroth," said another member of the council, "Remove her immediately."

"No!" Rayne's voice was rising in volume now, "I will not be removed, and i will not be swayed." With that, Rayne slapped her hands together and slid the palms across each other, a great ball of flame igniting between them. The orb uncoiled into a ribbon of fire that trailed after her fingertips as she raised her hand above her head, then...

Rayne, could feel her writs grabbed from behind and then heard it a voice so low... so deep... and increasingly menacing... "I am no mere Spirit elemental! I could crush you before you had any reaction time... see the might of a true elemental little Rayne." As Asdroth, spoke water flew from glasses and pitchers in the chamber and Ice froze over Rayne, and incised her up to her neck. "learn your place before I take away your ability to breath." for some unknown reason Rayne, could not find the words to speak back at first. her body stunned with uncontrollable fear realizing who had just incised her body in Ice, but why would she fear him just for that. She begain to feel her hart speed up trying to worm her body witch now shivered cold for the first time in her life. Asdroth, spoke clearly and stepped in front of Rayne, his voice finely seemed to reach its lowest and darkest. "I am your only friend in the walls of this city. I DO NOT need to manipulate or lie to you! your to weak for the need or wast of my talents little Kymar. now when you find your ability to control your self I can walk you out of the chamber like a big girl, or I can force the Ice into spikes that will impale your body to a bloody pulp of flesh and bone. It's your choice." The threat seemed all to real, and the Ice seemed to be tightening slightly making it harder for Rayne, to breath but not impossible.

A councilor stood and seemed to be enjoying this. "just crush her... It will make for one less vile monster in this world." Asdroth, never looked away from Rayne's eye. His only making her want to run and hide. She swore they had turned Ice blue. Asdroth, drew his blades into his hands and never looked away form her.

Rayne was on the verge of panic, she had never before felt the bite of cold, but now it seemed to creep into her very Spirit. She struggled to find words, but they seemed to stick to her throat. She finally managed a submissive nod, though every fiber of her being screamed to lash out, to fight back.

Asdroth, pulled the ice turning to water and go from witch it came and sheathed his blades stepping forward to her, and seeing her he took off his clock and put it around her. "Come now. You over stayed your welcome in this chamber." His voice was warm and very welcoming now. "I will show you back to your room, and we can talk of this more." Asdroth, smiled and stepped in front of her opening the chamber doors and weighting for her to follow him. "Thank you for your time Council men!" giving a slight bow. "Hurry up now Rayne... or they may relay arrest you!"

Rayne cast a fiery glare between Asdroth and the Council, but followed after him. She held her held proudly, despite her black gown now weighing her down, and her hair dripping around her. She refused to allow herself to shake at all from the cold as she swept past Asdroth and out into the hall.

Asdroth, closed the doors behind him and walked next to Rayne, and begging to speak. "That went well. Oh and by the way great case for your people my Lady. I do wonder if the Council even thinks ANY of your people can be reasoned with if YOUR the one they picked to be Ambassador! What were you thinking!?" Asdroth, keep walking down the hall shaking his head.

"They insulted my lord, that is unforgivable." Rayne growled quietly, "They have spoken lies against him and treated his emissary like an ignorant child."

"Treating you like an Ignorant child!?" Asdroth, grabs her and stars into her eyes. "you act it." Asdroth, walks away toward his home shaking his head and ignoring anything she has to say for the time being.

The two young Kymar continued on to Asdroth's Home 1
