Quick Facts

Appearance...
- Small, remora fish with shimmering blue scales and powerful fins.
- Large suction disk is atop their skulls, which the Echeneis use to attach to other moving targets.
- Countershaded, with a darker blue dorsal side and a lighter blue pectoral side.
Habitat...
- Oceans worldwide, though only along shipping routes.
- Native to Atlantis waterways, but have travelled worldwide in only a short span due to Atlantean shipping.
- Difficult to kill and more of an annoyance than a danger.
Behavior...
- Echeneis are rather collecting fish, mostly swarming within schools with larger moving objects to get a free ride instead of spending their own energy in swimming long distances.
- An annoyance to all ships, Echeneis are difficult to extermination without proper magical techniques to force-move them.
- Swarms of Echeneis are easily noticed by expert seafarers because of the noticable slowing they cause to ships they are near. However they are not all negative, because Echeneis will actually eat barnacles and other parasites to a ship's hull while around.
