Quick Facts

Appearance...
- Stage three is the "Ghoul Stage". This is the point in which highly recognized mutation takes place to form the bodies of the anceint civilization long extinct. Few viruses make it to this stage of development, but once completed it can remain dormant for uncalculated amounts of time.
- This stage was expected to be the final stage because the Ghouls are capable of independent thought and actions where Zombies and Abominations were unable to accomplish these.
- The Ghoul stage has no defined length of duration, so it was mysterious to the races of the world and thought to be the "butterfly" when actually it is more like the "chrysalis" of the plague.
Habitat...
- Adon, Necros
- Serve as the lowest armed soldier of the Undead.
- Ghouls are much more stable than their zombie chysali, and have far greater ranges of travel.
Behavior...
- Ghouls are feared for their insatiable desire for feeding, much like their zombie forebears. However, Ghouls can think to a much higher degree than zombies and are able to react much as they did in their previous lives.
- This reaction time doubles as the Ghouls matures, and after 3 days they can be faster in undeath than they once were in life. With this reaction time coupled with an unfeeling body, they can actually surpress the pain derived from strained muscles. This "unfeeling" of pain allows them to be much stronger in undeath as well. Although more intelligent than zombies, they lack an independent soul... which causes their magic prowess to be far less than once was.
- Ghouls roam in armies across Necros, hunting all life to imbue with the plague. They show no compassion, and spread the plague by any means necessary. These disgusting displays are noted more like the rape of life from a victim than simple infestation. Truly an army of such monsters causes fear within any populace hearing of their arrival.
