Description
Gryllus are ghosts who have no defined ability or shape other than the collection of bones with which they connect into a loosely formed body. Rarely ever will the bones be simply of one creature, and even less likely will the bones be in the same position as they were with the previous owner. Sometimes skulls will be used like clamping hands simulating pincers of a crab, or hands and feet will be replaced with one another to allow for better climbing or "kick boxing".
These creatures are only found on the forsaken island, Lith. Even then only in areas where bones are plentiful, such as haunted castles or graveyards. They don't normally move around much unless they find something interesting enough to play around with.
No two Gryllus ever look the same, even the heads of these creature may not even be a skull, but the remnants of a thigh bone or other large skeletal form because Gryllus cannot tell the difference between the hollowness of one bone to another. These ghosts can only form assumptions about these calcium constructs from the exterior. They only notice teeth, fingers, tails, and other features that can be seen from the outside, which explains why they rarely look like the creatures the bones are from. Some speculate that the gryllus are not ghosts but rather trickster spirits since they are not familiar with bodies, and would explain their utter ridiculous nature and prankster behavior.
