Quick Facts
Appearance...
- Moa are called the "cow birds" because they are grazing animals, usually with long necks and hunched over the ground.
- With long stringy feathers, the moa look more like hairy animals than feathered birds.
- Moa have unusually long necks, making their standing height much taller than one would imagine.
Habitat...
- Alchera, the Bush.
- Usually Moa are found hunched over in tall grasses, which acts as a decent camoflage.
- Moa are the domestic mounts of the Aboriginal humans of Alchera, but act mainly as alternatives to beasts of burden.
Behavior...
- Moa usually spend most of their time grazing, having only a small mouth for which to peck and preen amongst the grasses.
- When spooked, Moa can poke their tiny heads far out of the grasses to get an overhead view of their surrounding.
- Moa are flightless, and their wings are little more than stubs from their shoulders.
