Iasi, mon amour

- Ancient buildings in Iasi -

The ancient monastery of Golia, built by the family of the ruler Vasile Lupu in the second half of the 17th century. The baroque decoration of the exterior is harmoniously interweaved with the traditional forms of the Orthodox churches. You can also see a piece of the original precincts wall. (next 2 images)

The Barboi church (next 3 photos) - Built between 1613 and 1615 by Ursul Barboi (architect - Andrei Karidis), restored during 1841-1844 by Dimitrie Sturdza, shaped as a Greek cross.
