Name: Jason Isaacs
Birthplace: Liverpool, England
Birthdate: June 6, 1963
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Brown
Height: 5'11"

Best Known as: Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter

The third of four sons of a Liverpool merchant, Jason Isaacs was born in his father's hometown. He initially planned to go into law, but was swayed by acting early in the course of his law studies at Bristol University. Although he first became interested in acting in part because "it was a great way to meet girls," Isaacs soon found deeper meaning in the theater (in one interview he was quoted as saying "I could release myself into acting in a way that I was not released socially") and duly dropped out of Bristol to hone his skills at London's Central School of Speech and Drama. He was well on the way to a solid career as a character actor, mainly playing dark, taciturn characters who have an air of menace to them. Not all of his roles, however, called for the actor to be nasty. Isaacs won critical praise for his turn as Louis Ironside, the politically-driven, emotionally waffling gay man, in Tony Kushner's epic Angels in America. He was fine as the ship's medic in Event Horizon and Michael Bay tapped him to play one of the world's smartest men, brought in to combat an oncoming meteor, in the summer blockbuster Armageddon.
