Main Office
The office appears just like any other with a basic, if slightly outdated, console set up on a cherry wood desk with a leather rolling chair tucked beneath it. It is dark in the room however, the room itself lacking windows, lit only by the still glowing screen on the desk. There is a second door to the right that is ajar, with a very strong, foul stench emitting from inside.
Silera; glanced around curiously at the room and approached the computer and slid into the seat in front of it. She tilted her head to one side and studied it for a few moments before placing the gun on the desk with a solid clunk. It was within easy grabbing distance as she pulled out the keyboard and started pressing keys.
Marcus was glad to distance himself from the stench coming from the receptionist area and a computer might give them better information than the discarded papers. "Here try this number I found in the papers from the conference room, its 344862 might give us a name or access something around here." he said trying to be helpful.
"Mmmm. Good idea."
Silera nodded approvingly and quicker tapped out the number sequence. She leaned back and started going through drawers while she waited for the computer to react to the sequence. "I hope this doesn't set off an alarm." She said suddenly.
"Try with the positive thoughts, but I hope it doesn't either."
Marcus answered and went to stand near the door leading out to the hallway. He hoped at least they could get a layout of this place and locate an exit, then they could find somewhere to hold up and figure everything out. "Do you happen to know what city, state, or country we might be in, everything I've read is in english so going out on a limb that we are in the United States." he theorized while they waited for the computer to come back with anything on the numbers.
Silera nodded with a quick jerk of her head. "That sounds right." She agreed and smacked her hand against the computer. "Damn it! Why is it so slow?" She snarled impatiently. She didn't feel right in this place and wanted nothing more than to get out and get as far from here as possible.
The screen lit up blue with a soft jingle and a pleasant female voice came through the speakers in the room. "Hello, how can I help you today?"
"What is going on here?."
Silera demanded as she stared at the screen. She shot a glance at Marcus to see if he had anything to add.
Marcus smiled, his friend was very blunt and leaned a little closer to the computer, "Display a facility map." He then waited for it to do something and again looked around the room for anything that might be useful. "We will try cameras next, and if we have time ask the who, what, where and most importantly how." he said to Silera crossing his fingers.
Hmpf.
Silera crossed her arms and let Marcus take over. She was to on edge and tense to be much good and she turned her attention to the desk drawers as she rummaged through them in search of ammunition of anything useful in general... Like a snack.
"I'm sorry, I was not able to process your request." The AI chimed in response to Silera's question. There was a pause as it took in what Marcus said, followed by a soft ding as the first floor plans appeared on the screen.
"Well there we go dear Sil, the way out is through the pharmacy."
Marcus said pointing to the map. "Computer, can you bring up the CCTV feeds and any information on other security systems active?" he asked pressing his luck. Hopefully, they would see what was going on around the building before they made good their escape and not run into whatever destroyed the operating area.
Hmpf.
Silera wasn't exactly pleased to hear the shortened version of her name and she paused her searched and glanced up at him, "My name is Silera... not Sil." She said firmly, though not meanly, before she stood up and looked back at the front desk and then went back to look out the other door towards the
Lab 218: AC-Block. She was starving and it was driving her into movement as she paced restlessly back and forth. "We need to get out of here. This isn't right, something is going on, I don't think we would've been released randomly." She said as she glanced at Marcus.
They didn't have any more information other than where the exit was, but it was enough he supposed. "Alright Silera let's get to the pharmacy and out the loading dock."
Marcus said standing up. Following her towards the door leading to
Lab 218: AC-Block, hoping the way out wasn't more like the way to their doom.
Silera nodded in confirmation and swept into the hallway going to the
Lab 218: AC-Block.
With a smirk
Marcus too exited out into
Lab 218: AC-Block
