This is what the main storyline revolves around, the legend of The Four Circles, also known as Lo's Four Circles. Only the most ignorant of people do not know the story, as it is told to many children in a nursery rhyme form. Even if someone were to miss out on it as a child, any bard will almost always tell the true poem during their recitals.

Lo's Four Circles

Lo, Creator of all
In wisdom had make
The world and all in't
Yet He had worries of the darkness within
He made more to
Defend the light from
The ones who would hurt
And so Lo made his Four Circles complete
Great sources of His
Power to be used
By only the pure hearted
So the Four Circles lie hidden until then
Then is the time
When the world needs
His truest power to keep
The light, truth, justice and hope.

An ancient poem. Nobody knows where the legend comes from, and many brave yet foolhardy warriors and treasure seekers have gone in search of the Four Circles, hoping to take the power that Lo left with the world. No-one even knows what the Circles truly are... places? Artifacts?
